Don't get scared when he voluntarily exits and same peeps start blabbing that he fled becos he knew he had no realistic chance of winning. Let them talk that's what the huge hole in their faces is for, while we filter the slush. It's time Africa realises that Naija never deserts its own, no matter what.

I stand to be corrected, but I think this is the first time in the BB Franchise, that a housemate has to deal with grief on such a monumental scale in front of teeming viewers. There is no template on how the unfortunate housemate should or should not behave, I can only salute this guy for not wavering from his persona exhibited the very first day he stepped foot in the BBA house till date. With all the whining about dude’s famed "love of Money", you’d think that someone would agree to love-vendor his life out for the entertainment of the most parochial viewers to be found anywhere in the world for the love of Money’s younger sister (supposedly some alien currency not recognized as a legal tender by humans) However of Uti’s love for his departed father and his family (from his comments) I’m in doubt.

12 AUG (DAY 25): UTI'S SITUATION EXPLAINED

On Monday 9 August, Uti heard from Big Brother that his father had passed away. Big Brother gave Uti various options concerning his situation. Today (Thurs 12 August) Big Brother addressed the Housemates and the Barnmates and elaborated on Uti's situation as follows:

Firstly, Big Brother would like to express condolences to Uti and his family on the sad occasion of the passing away of Uti’s father this past Sunday. Out of respect and sensitivity for Uti and his family, Big Brother would like to clarify the circumstances and conditions concerning Uti’s further participation in the Big Brother series.

The family called the producers with the news on Monday morning. Big Brother monitored a phone call in the diary room in which Uti’s sister informed him that his father had gone. His sister indicated that the preparations for the funeral may take up to three weeks.

Uti was understandably very upset and distressed about his father and confused about his status in the Big Brother game.
Under ‘Emergencies’ dealing with ‘family crisis’ the Big Brother rule reads as follows:
‘Should there be any extreme crisis in a contestant’s family or private life outside of the show, Big Brother will communicate this to them. Should a Housemate and Big Brother decide that the nature of the crisis mean that they have to leave for any protracted time, they will not be allowed to re enter the house and may be replaced.’
Big Brother presented two options to Uti and his family:
1) Uti leaves the Big Brother house immediately until the funeral . This would entail an absence of 2 to 3 weeks as no funeral arrangements are in place yet. In this case Uti may not return to the game.
2) Should Uti attend the funeral only, an absence of 3 to 4 days including travel would be required. In this instance he would be accompanied by 2 chaperones, a senior member of the production team and a Nigerian who is conversant with the language of Uti’s family. This monitoring arrangement would be in place to ensure no communication with the outside world on any information which may impact on the contestant’s behaviour in the Big Brother series. Should this monitoring be judged to be effective, Big Brother would allow Uti back into the game on terms and conditions prescribed by Big Brother.
Uti and the family were given 24 hours to seriously think through the two options.

After 24 hours a follow up discussion was held telephonically between Uti, his sister (representing the family) and the producers. Uti and his family chose the second option - that is to leave the house for the actual funeral for 3 to 4 days, fully chaperoned, and to return to the game should all the conditions be strictly adhered to.

Big Brother has agreed to this option.

Its difficult for her since she has always put sexx first than any other thing to advance herself in the game. That old white looking face is not attractive any more. She even dresses like a ho in this cold, you can see that she selling sexx in the house.

For the third time, Tatiana is the New Head of House. The chandelier was not part of the props qualified by Big Brother for the Task and anyone whose Tower fell was also disqualified.

Paloma said whoever came up with the idea of Marshmallows and Spaghetti "mxm!" Jen said she found it very creative.

Kaone came second while Yacob's Tower was the third. When Big Brother announced Tatiana as Head of House, she was so excited and jumped up and down.

Meanwhile, Kaone shouted “She touched it, she touched it!” Munya was clearly excited and asked Tatiana to give him the Sheriff badge if she leaves on Sunday.

What Munya does not know is that he too is up for eviction on Sunday and if Tatiana does leave on Sunday, Kaone will be the Head of House.

The Housemates were given 40 minutes to build the tallest Spaghetti Marshmallow tower inside a box in isolation from each other and some of them were so tempted to eat the marshmallows.

Confusion was the order of the Day in the fight for Head of House: Should Uti’s Tower be disqualified because he suspended it on the chandelier, should Jen’s Tower be disqualified because it collapsed before Sheila could measure it?, should Tatiana's Tower be disregarded because it fell after it was measured?

Can't let go!

Uti could not let go of his Tower as he had built what resembled the Eiffel Tower but it just could not stand unsupported and he simply decided to suspend it on the chandelier when Biggie asked them to step away from their Towers.

Mwisho complained that 40 minutes wasn’t up and insisted that Biggie should give them more time.

Big Brother called Sheila into the Diary Room and wanted to know if Sheila was comfortable with the results and she said no because some of the Towers had collapsed after Big Brother had announced that the Housemates had to stop.

Biggie said Uti decided to support his Tower with the chandelier.
Sheila said she really wasn’t comfortable because some Towers crumbled before being measured while others fell after being measured.

Consensus

Big Brother understood that perhaps the rules were vague and asked Sheila to seek consensus from her Housemates. The Housemates could not agree if the rules were clear or not.

Munya said they would not be arguing if the rules were clear so there was a consensus that perhaps Biggie should decide.
