They are ignorant.

Any little political confusion, some people will start calling for coup. They are not aware that Nigeria and Africa have moved beyond that level. Have they witnessed any successful military coup in Africa in the contemporary time? They don't realise that it is no longer fashionable in the world. These people still have the mentality of 60s and 70s.
India, South Africa or Brazil where they have stronger military, their average citizen will not think of coup at any slightest political crisis in their countries.
But these ignoramus think coup is a a sign of civilization.

So you are now comparing Indian and Brazillian Politicians to all these "defecting and porting" crminals in Nigeria? Abeg, dont insult these nations.

20yrs of political madness without any benefit to the citizens, in your own eyes, is a little confusion? Naivety at its peak!

You cant even cast your vote for a party and its candidate, hoping that candidate will not get to the seat and then turn-around to become the candidate of the party you did not vote for or start doing the policy of the party you never wanted! So, that is Democracy, right?

Stop decieving yourselves, Africa has not moved-on anywhere.
Look at the Nigerian Political scene for example, is it not the same military crooks of the past that transformed into Politicians?
Do African Democracy provide the gains that Democracy in India or Brazil has provided the people? Is Democracy benefitting South Africans or Nigerian citizens, as it is benefiting those people in say France, Canada, US or even china?

You coup will not successful and you will definitely pay the ultimate price. That's just it.

Forget about IBB or Abacha, gone are those days, not now again.

The dude you quoted wasn't after a successful coup. He suggests they die by taking many along, of which thier names will become history in this country than to die in the hands of Boko haram like chicken and as nobody.

It's not cool, but I think the dude made sense.

You can't compare Nigerian democracy with US or France, that's why I didn't mention them, in the first instance.
The fact that we are yet to get it right doesn't mean we will not get their. If you feel things are not going well, as 2019 draws nearer, you too have every right to approach the INEC, collect a form, canvass for votes, be elected and correct the anomaly. That's one of the beauty of the democracy.

If you believe Africa has not moved-on- anywhere, Perhaps, you compare the number of coups that have taken place successfully and the countries being ruled by military in the contemporary period with that of 90s.

What book of history of the country will their names be written?
Do you know the names of those who carried out the failed coup that terminated the life of Murtala Muhammed? Where are the names of the plotters of the aborted coup against IBB in 1990, in the book of history?

What's cool and sensible in that?

In Nigeria, serving in the military is voluntary, unlike some other countries. So when you're signing a contract to join the military, you 've already agreed that both your life and death you're going to sacrifice it for your nation. So why looking back? And if you can't cope anymore, then opt out instead of treachery.
Milliary profession is not because you're looking for a job and since you can't get one, you now take it as a job opportunity. It is not for a job seeker, but for anyone who wants to defend and serve his nation with his life.

These must be largely Southern soldiers to be used as shooting targets & cannon fodder for Boko Haram.

Just when you think coup is inconceivable, everything negative just seems possible under Buhari.

This is serious, the boys are not smiling quote author=perfect12 post=70222626]BREAKING: Angry soldiers ground Maiduguri airport, threaten to shoot superiors

There is currently tension at the Maiduguri international airport in Borno state as angry soldiers are shooting indiscriminately to protest their deployment from the state capital to another local government.

The aggrieved soldiers reportedly arrived at the airport at 6pm ahead of their posting to Marte local government area.

But trouble started when they regrouped and refused to board the aircraft which ought to convey them there.

The soldiers who are of the special forces said after spending over four years in Maiduguri, they ought to be sent back to their families and not to be posted to face death.

An officer who witnessed the incident said superior officers, including Bulami Biu, general officer commander (GOC) of 7 division, were asked to stay off the airport or risk being shot.

“The second batch of pilgrims from Borno boarded their flight amid the commotion,” the source said.

“The special forces are ready for trouble. They are really angry. The superiors were asked to stay off or be killed.”

I expected them to kill as many superior as they can, kill even the president if possible, then I will take them serious. What they don't understand is ,the elongation of the crisis bring more money to the superior officers and the politicians at the detriment of their life, they have a choice, kill them or be killed

Am sure most if not all of these protesting Officers are from South and Middle belt Christians soldiers. Killing them off from army via fake Boko haram fighters is the order of the day in BuhariAPC.

Burying them secretly to avoid media coverage is key to Buhari victory over Boko Haram technically....!

These news is really sad to hear and depressing, but as someone said above, no one in this country is forced to join the military as it is completely voluntary but there should be fairness and justice everywhere or else things will just keep on getting worse.

Did they also sign to fight with barehands, delayed pay and tolerate embezzlement by bosses?

We still remember many April 22 1990 Coup Plotters: Major Gideon Orkar, Lt Echendu (escaped to USA eventually), Major Mukoro, Major Edosa, Major Obanor, Major Dakolo, Lt Henry Ogboru, Lt Obasi, Lt Col Nyiam,Lt Okekumatalo, Lt Okhiafo, etc

From Dimka coup we still remember Bisalla, Aliyu, Ogunmekan, Monchon, Idi, Ribo, Wey, Adamu, Umaru, Afolabi, Wakins, etc.

What a lugubrious incident! This can only result into a brouhaha! I thought the Buhari Administration had...oh, "TECHNICALLY CONQUERED BOKO HARAM."
Well, it's been long I knew "actually" is the beginning of excuse and 99% of excuses are lies.
If Nigeria Army can behave in this manner, they're also saying something TECHNICALLY LOUD; "We can't get killed for nothing"!
