13 Passengers burnt to death in Rivers State on 9th August, 2018
A Hiace bus with 14 passengers collided with a pail loader along East-West Road in Emohua LGA in Rivers State. At the incident, a naval officer and 12 other persons were burnt to death.

The bus was headed to Lagos on Thursday morning of 9th August and the passengers were completely burnt as the bus went up into flames due to the collision.

It was gathered that a pail loader skewed off the road into the direction of the Hiace bus hence the head-on collision. The bus took off from Rumuokoro bus stop in the early morning of Thursday and met the unfortunate accident a distance after Choba Bridge.

One passenger out of the 14 who survived the accident had severe burns and was moved to the hospital. The other 13 burnt to death were taken to University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital mortuary.
