About the facilitator

Oris Aigbokhaevbolo is a writer, journalist, and one of the most acclaimed popular culture critics of his generation. In 2014, he became the only writer to receive invitations to the film critic academies in Germany, South Africa, and the Netherlands in a single year. The next year, his music writing won the All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA) for Music Journalism.

Oris was the winter 2016 writer-in-residence at the island of Sylt, Germany and his curation of articles for the 2017 Felabration received a special award by the annual festival. His essays, reviews, reportage, and humour pieces have appeared in the Guardian UK, the Africa Report, This is Africa, the literary journal Chimurenga, as well as in numerous Nigerian publications.
