AC Milan have announced the signing of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan from Chelsea.

The frenchman joined Chelsea last summer after his impressive performances with AS Monaco.

The 23-year-old completed his medical on Monday afternoon and agreed personal terms with the Serie A Club.

An official statement on Chelsea's website read: "Tiemoue Bakayoko has moved to AC Milan on a season-long loan.

"The French midfielder made 43 appearances for the Blues last season after joining from Monaco.

"He scored three goals and helped us win the FA Cup final, playing the full 90 minutes as we beat Manchester United at Wembley.

"The 23-year-old now makes the temporary switch to the Serie A side who are managed by Gennaro Gattuso and are competing in the Europa League this season."

Bakayoko wrote on Instagram, “Wishing my Chelsea family the best this season! #TILWEMEETAGAIN.”

The Frenchman also praised Milan for showing belief in him ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

“AC Milan, thank you for believing in me and for all the support,” Bakayoko wrote in a separate post.

The Midfielder played for Chelsea 25 times last season as they failed to defend their Premier League Title.
