Since the report has been submitted to the UN Security Council, They should work with that information and bring a lasting solution. since they want to interfere as if they were blind to what has been going on in Northern Nigeria. The Hate the international community has shown the SS region of Nigeria because of oil (feed the nation mentality) they turned blind, deaf and dumb over calls for them to interfere in the BH issue because they fear if they fight against the Northern Agenda, the ND might use that as an opportunity to clamor for more intervention in resource control. |

blackaxe78: This is not true, these nations have an overt anti-terrorist policy. Let me prove it. 1.The United States: This can be seen in their treatment of ISIS, Al-QAEDA (they covertly invaded Pakistan and killed Bin-Laden) and Abdul-Mutallab who was tried and jailed for life. 2. U.K: There is no evidence that the U.K has ever negotiated with terrorists, in-fact they lent some force to the U.S invasion of Afghanistan. 3. Russia: The fact that you mentioned Russia in your successful bid to ridicule yourself by that statement you just posted shows that you are either ignorant of the Russian stance on terrorism or sympathetic to Islamic terrorism. Russia has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR TERRORISM which they have demonstrated on numerous occasions. Let me list some instances with proof: (i) The Beirut Diplomats Saga: On September 30, 1985, a group of gunmen seized four Soviet diplomats and embassy workers (Arkady Katkov, Valery Myrikov, Oleg Spirin, and Nikolai Svirsky) in Beirut. During the kidnapping right outside the embassy, Katkov was wounded in the leg. The abductors called themselves "The Khaled Al-Walid Force" and the "Islamic Liberation Organization". Russia quickly dispatched its 'Alpha Group", one of it's special forces branches tasked with counter-terrorism hostage-rescue operations to Beirut to deal with the threat. Once the team learned that Arkady Katkov, a consular attaché and one of the four hostages, was killed, they responded quickly by tracking down and locating one of the kidnappers’ leaders (or relative it’s not clear). In order to send a clear message to the terrorists, Alpha group members castrated the hostage, cut him down into pieces and sent him to the hostage takers. They also threatened to kill more of the kidnappers’ relatives if the Soviet diplomats were not free. As a result, the 3 hostages were released and dropped off near the Soviet Embassy and no Russian officials were ever taken captive since then. (ii) The Moscow theater hostage crisis:On the 23rd of October 2002, 40-50 armed Chechens who claimed allegiance to the Islamic separatist movement in Chechnya demanded a withdrawal of Chechnyan forces from Russia and demande an end to the second Chechnyan war. Russia was having none of that, so they sent in Spetsnaz operatives (Russian special forces) from the Alpha and Vega branches to deal with the situation. The Spetsnaz fought thier way in and killed ALL of the terrorists losing about 204 hostages in the process. Are you getting the point? Russia was prepared to lose 204 hostages to destroy all the terrorists and send a clear message. As you can see you were clearly misguided and criminally ignorant in your assertion that the U.S, U.K and Russia most particularly are in the habit of coddling Islamic terrorists. |

kingthreat: You cannot be serious now, can you? Really, you cannot surely be serious when you said "the government did what they had to do". This same government had already paid Boko Haram $10million after which they declared them 'technically defeated'. Shortly after that they kidnapped a bunch of school girls, an operation which from all indications and evidence was orchestrated by the govt and top brass in the military. Next the girls were returned and the govt denied paying any ransom to the terrorists, a claim which has recently been refuted by the UN. Now it has come to light that the govt paid a 5 million Euro ransom which should be about $5.6 million to the same terrorists which had earlier been given $10million. That brings the total sum to roughly $15.6MILLION paid in ransom to terrorists. Now imagine if that sum had been used to train and equip our own military. Just imagine. Now when you convert $15.6million to naira, you get #5.638682400(Naira), that is 5.6 Billion naira!!! The Defence budget for 2018 is 422.43 Billion Naira, that means 5.6 billion is 1.3% of 422 billion. Imagine that Boko Haram gets 1.3% of the national defence budget! Despite the threads of a conspiracy that litter the whole story, the fact that we even pay ransom to a terrorist organisation when the Defense budget is so large means that something stinks here! I pray that the stench kills all those involved. 1 Like |

Sentientcarbon: Hello, citizens of this country have been captured and released. Did terrorist just willingly free them? Every government denies this fact but its well known and speculations always follow. Which terrorist willingly free hostages. And moreover, some have been executed and posted online. What message does that send, dialogue failed. So if they do, Were you expecting them to say it in a press briefing. Common! |

Sentientcarbon: You have a strong point. Infact i share your emotions. But knowing the depth of the previous chibok kidnap scandal, the government had a choice to either let the dapchi issue ruin them or pay through their nose to ease the situation. If you were the government what would you do? |
