[size=14pt]Zoning is good in principle and for the sake of equity, but one thing the PDP Elders or Board of trustees forgot to do was amend or cover certain contentious issue when they were drawing up and deliberating on how their perfect Gentlemen’s agreement was going to be implemented, they failed to cover a situation where an incumbent President dies on the Job. 

By failing to consider this very important option they have ingloriously shot themselves in the foot, what can save the party rather than the on-going heckling over whether the North OR the South should produce the next President they should adhere to the doctrine of necessity once again which ushered Goodluck- IN, in the first place.

It would mean that the missing clause must be inserted into their constitution,  not this present constitution as we all have the benefit of hindsight. The VP position b4 the demise of the President was more like a personal Non –Grata position,  nobody will touch with a barge pole let alone  seek favour from.

Yaradua and Jonathan were elected together, started the race together one of them dropped half way during the arduous journey, surely one of them must be allowed to finish the relay. The fact that the current President is from the area where the golden egg is laid, the egg which the rest of the nation depends on is something most selfish Northerners especially those who have tested power before should bare in mind, let the boy from the oil creeks  rule this great country for once and stop all this senseless bickering after all what has Kastina, Kano or Sokoto got to offer the nation.

In the meantime the Party stalwarts of PDP can meet in one of the so many sumptuous and tastefully furnish living rooms across the land and draw up a new water tight Gentleman’s agreement which would take any eventualities into account but on the issue of whether Jonathan is going to run OR not does not apply,  as the new rules cannot be introduced when the match has already began, the rules can only be re-presented when the game is over and that would be for another day or another era perhaps 2015.[/size]
