Nigerian media giant Punch Newspaper has published an apology and retraction over a post they made on popular singer 2face Idibia.

The newspaper had reported that 2face Idibia allegedly stole the song Amaka from up and coming singer Yoko B who claimed his producer sold him out and delivered his song to the pop star.

2face in his reaction to the story that was all over social media, threatened to sue Yoko B if he did not withdraw the claims and it is very much likelly people from his camp reached out to Punch Newspaper to apologise on the report they made without verification.

In the Sunday, July 8, 2018 edition of the Sunday PUNCH, we published without due verification a story in which Analike Okezie (Yoko B) accused 2Baba of stealing his song, Amaka.

We hereby retract the said story and tender our apology to Mr. Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, who we hold in high regards.

Why is his name always linked to song theft?

The newspaper is just a media outreach na.

Whether they apologize or not, they've done their business. Even asking them to apologize is patronizing them more.
Until Yoko, the accuser apologizes, it makes no difference.
