Please Help: My Mazda 626 2002 Millennia Doesn't Start In The Morning. by tobiuseful(m): 1:38pm On Aug 19, 2018
Good day,
Please I need an expert advice from my ogas here about my Mazda 626 2002 millennia that won't start in the morning. It has been worked on by rewires and mechanics but the problem still persists.
I got it scanned and I got the code P0743 ( Torque Clutch Converter Electrical) persistently. Other codes scanned has been worked on and cleared.
My mechanic told me to change the transmission or replace it with a manual transmission.
Please I'll like to know if the problem is repairable without changing the gear and also if that particular code can cause my car not to start.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
It cranks well but doesn't start. At times if it starts luckily it doesn't idle well and dies immediately after trying to press the throttle. Also, in some cases, it doesn't want to climb up hill or anything no matter how high or low.(that's when it still start o, for now no starting at all but it cranks)

What is the repair history of the car to fix this issue apart from scanning .

Fuel pump, mass air flow meter, throttle position sensor, cool switch and camshaft position sensor has been replaced. Also, the transmission has been flushed and other electrical works.

Check the Crankshaft position sensor or there is one sensor that its situated on the gear. Check thatbif its broken.

Is your car a V6 or a 4cylinder?

Its not just throwing parts at the car that's the problem here.

Seems to be an intermittent issue you're having here.

Did your mechanic really checked if sparks were being sent to the spark plugs via the crankshaft sensor(s)? If he did confirmed sparks, then the sensor might be OK; it could just be the circuitry problems on that sensor. But if according to your comments here about the sensor already being replaced, you got to check for electrical issues with the car.

Ask him to finally check for sparks to the plugs first!
