Hmmmm,.... African governments must boldly ask these Western powers to key into this new ideology of win win philosophy between Africa/China and work within that framework. Any other thing outside that will spell doom for Africa eternally. The trade war U.S. have imposed on China is truly because of aggressive Chinese infrastructural development in Africa.... The west want to neutralize that trend. These tariffs from US to China is designed to acomplish among other things to reduce overall Chinese investments in Africa and increase within a short period of time the debt profile of African governments debts to China as African currencies lose values due to the trade wars. This will trigger a lot of changes in Chinese policies towards Africa & the West will be lurking by the corner to inject their poisoning IMF/World bank inspired policies/conditions. The new found love of humanity between China & Africa is shaking the world to its foundation and all thanks goes to President Xi Jinping.

A very informed comment from a mature and knowledge fellow.
Also, mind you since sour romance btw Europe and Britain, Theresa has ignited fresh fake romance former colonies (abandoned Commonwealth) nations to fill the gap to left by E.U.
It's all fake, it's about resources for their own survival and nothing for Africa.

this guy think China is here for win/win cheesy grin

Oga; China is here to rip us off even more in Africa, especially in those countries that they are romanxing their dictator leaders cheesy grin

Land grabbing, illegal mining and exploration, and unethical practices have grown in leaps and bounds since the Chinese stepped in

And you know what's worse, their govt back home covers them, unlike in the case of western corporations where if you get entangled in unethical practices abroad, you are in big trouble.

West, East or even from the moon, they are all here to cheat us

And as China is hungry for mineral resources that is beneath our feet, they will continue to come trick us

Africans need to deal with all these foreign powers at arms length, and then promote intra continental trade within themselves

dasall.

I think Nigeria and Africa should just shut the door or reduce her partnership with the EU and America and focus on China.

I just dey laugh for nigeria and Africa.. The neo colonial project is alive. The unspeakable truth about BREXIT is that they are tired of negotiating with other world powers like france, Germany, spain etc.. If you can see, the British are trying to come back and align with commonwealth where they have mouth, it is easier for them unlike the EU Because they know that the Germans are too strong for them, France is also there..

If you have been listening to the news, our former colonial master are trying to go back to the colonies.. France is holding francophone, Germany is holding Namibia, Tanzania.. Even small Portugal are going back to get hold of Angola, Mozambique etc.. So as the British, they are beginning to get hold of nigeria, ghana, kenya.

And also, there are new entrant into the economy such as China.. They have realized that there are so many exploitation to be made out of Africa. China just bought a vast area of land in Zambia to focus on agriculture to feed its citizen in the future. China has said families can give birth to more than why one child. I bet you the second child will be coming to africa in the next 20 years.. Soon we will begin to adopt Chinese as an official language..

Look at Morocco, they are another new entrant to west Africa, they have held Mauritania, Senegal, Cote d'ivoire.. In fact they have surpassed france when it comes to investing in Cote d'ivoire.. You can see in the news of late that Morocco wants to join ECOWAS. I thought they are cousins to other Arab nations, one would have thought that they have good terms with their cousin nations but no, they want to go where their voice caaan be heard..

Africa needs to rise to fight this neo colonization.. We need to negotiate first in our regional blocs like ECOWAS, SADC, east Africa development community and also Africa Union.. We need to trade within ourselves more, we need to look into one currency in its regional bloc while projecting at one currency for Africa. Our borders needs to be open for movement of people, goods and services, we need one command like we have ECOMOG.. All this were what Kwame Nkrumah proposed in the year 1963 but the african leaders turned deaf ears at Addis Ababa...

Look at the south china sea which is surrounded by Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia/Singapore and China, that is where 70% of the world shipping is passed.. But China was able to build an island and deploy its military there indicating that they are the owners of that south china sea..

We need to do something as Nigerians and as africans if not, we can see ourselves in another form of colonization by the west... God bless Africa..

Well said. How I wish we have diplomats in this regime. Anyway, lets keep our fingers crossed and strive to elect a credible leader come 2019.

African nations must tie any negotiations they have with these western countries on free movement of its citizens. if Britain want to open up free trade with us, then our people must be able to move freely into these countries.

Don't forget that the reason UK is now embracing Nigeria is because they have now left the european union and are now looking for new trading buddies. Nigerian leaders need to stand up and ensure that whatever deal is signed, is for the benefit of Nigerians. Nigerians/Africans should ALWAYS put our self interest first above pleasing all these western nations. If not, this will be our second colonisation.

Gullible nigerians! I told my friends months ago that British colonies will be the sufferer of Brexit. Anyone who blieves that the West is capable of giving concerted effort in d development of Africa is insane. Nigeria will witness aggressive hunger and famine in the coming years as a result of this.
