ABIA DAY CELEBRATIONS: GOVERNOR IKPEAZU REWARDS BEST PERFORMERS IN WAEC, SAYS NO RANCOUR IN ABIA POLITY. #AbiaOnline Abia Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has used the occasion of the 2018 Abia Day celebration to present a cash reward of one million naira each to three Abia students from the three zones of the State for best performance in WAEC results. In his speech at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. The Governor said his administration has not relented in fixing all sectors of the economy including education and informed that Abia State has not only sustained the school feeding programme beyond primary three but employed more than one thousand persons as cooks in addition to renovating many schools. He said the essence of the 27th anniversary celebration was to reflect on the journey so far and chart a new course for the future of Abia and thanked the founding fathers of the State for their labour in creating Abia. The Governor said he was happy that there is no rancour among political stakeholders in the State as he and his predecessor as well as other stakeholders are enjoying peace in the State. Dr. Ikpeazu congratulated Chief T. A Orji and other recipients of awards on the honour given to them and called on them to sustain their efforts in developing the State. Speaking earlier, Ezeogo (Dr.) Anagha Ezeikpe , the chairman Abia State Advisory Council called on all to embrace the Abia charter of equity and the 'Onye Aghala nwanne ya' philosophy, which preaches unity and equitable distribution of governorship position in the State, maintaining that the charter of equity was enunciated to ensure equitable distribution of political power in the State.
