Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by naijapips04: 11:59am On Aug 28, 2018 |
It's a good thing to finish projects started by your predecessor, afterall government they say, is a continuum. But it's evil when you don't recognize the work your predecessors have put it. One thing you should understand is that railway projects are massive projects any day. They are usually divided in phases. Second phase of Lagos - Ibadan Railway project was conducted under GEJ. Buhari is completing a phase of the project and suddenly wants to lay claim to the entire project? That is criminal and very dangerous.

Zombies should come and dispute this fact Even rotimi amaechi praised Jonathan for the much work done on his assumption from office unlike them claiming he never mobilized funds for the project. Like writer said it is a good thing to finish a project by your predecessor but evil when you do not recognize their work and lay claims to the entire job. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Op, you need to grow up and quit being petty, please. Government is a continuum. If every new government decides to abandon projects initiated by their predecessors there will be uncompleted projects everywhere. Lagos is working today because there is continuity of the visionary developmental masterplan by successive administrations. If Buhari abandons all of GEJ's projects for selfish reasons, who will suffer if not Nigerians who will be deprived of much needed infrastructure? Everything shouldn't always be reduced to politics all the time. 20 Likes 2 Shares |

RockHard: I never said Buhari shouldn't continue GEJ's project. Read what I wrote again. When you are taking over from where someone left off, you should let us know that you are completing what someone started and not claiming that the entire vision had been yours from day one. That is criminal. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Well no matter how credit should still go to former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for taking the project to such level. Meanwhile check out my signature |

You and omokri should stop embarrassing Jonathan with all these your kindergarten campaigns. Have u been thought that "ibere kii se onise afi eni to ba pari e" meaning whoever starts a work is not the owner but who finishes it. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

naijapips04: Sorry but that's the height of pettiness. I personally don't like the idea of playing politics with development. The Nigerian masses will only end up as the casualties of such toxic politics. 7 Likes |

BabaO2: This your Logic would not encourage continuum in governance. Every government would want to start what they can finish. Nobody would want to take up massive projects since most massive projects outlast their 4 year terms. |
Re: Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by naijapips04: 12:14pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
RockHard: You don't encourage development by not encouraging foresight. Say I start am no be must say I go finish am. That is foresight and that's what has built the greatest economies in the world. |

naijapips04: Your hypocrisy is befuddling. The same you are the one making a big deal out of whose project it supposedly is because that person initiated but didn't complete it. Now you are playing needless word games. Nigerians expect successive administrations to deliver critical infrastructure irrespective of who initiated or completes them. That's what should matter and not playing petty politics over whose project it is. 9 Likes 1 Share |

RockHard: True. Massive infrastructural projects take years to deliver. If Nigeria is to move beyond this stage that we are, we need to encourage continuum in governance. And you don't do that by laying claims to projects you never started and you are were never part of the visioning process. |

sevenhundred: and GEJ didn't. Did you see him mention that the project started in 2006? But Buhari has refused to acknowledge this. The want us to believe the entire thing started in 2016. |
Re: Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by RockHard: 12:59pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
naijapips04: It'll be stupid of Buhari and his handlers to claim that he initiated the projects in question since the records are there for all to see. But it is also equally foolish and stuupid to think to deprive Buhari's administration from claiming 'bragging rights' for completing what his predecessor failed to do. If GEJ must be complimented for initiating the project, then Buhari must equally be commended for completing it. In the end Nigerians are the true winners. That's only fair. 9 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by naijapips04: 1:01pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
RockHard: Exactly bro. The problem is that Buhari and his handlers are trying to rewrite history. Go back to the report on the project. No mention of GEJ. No mention of it being one of the projects inherited from the previous administration. That falsehood is what this thread is trying to address because setting that sort of precedence is dangerous for our Nation. |

naijapips04: GEJ also did not originate this project. Why are people so blind in this country?. Everybody thinking like some local bush meat with a parochial mind.. The actual conceptualization for improved railway infrastructure would be OBJ era MDGs sessions and NEEDS document. The Nigeria Railway Corporation is 100 years older than Nigeria itself and had its own corporate strategy. The only reason Buhari is being commended is the fact that it was in APC manifesto to borrow money from China and construct the line. This direct/simple approach and focus is commendable and will WIN him millions of votes from the region no matter what you feel about it. 5 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by mrvitalis(m): 1:22pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
RockHard:Initiated and started are two different words Buhari has never said he initiated the project they only said he started the construction hope you get now And that's the absolute truth.... Jonathan initiated the rail projects... Buhari only did small adjustments and start But its funny how you blame buhari for not including some region in the rail project... Then say Jonathan initiated the projects 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Lagos - Ibadan Railway Not A Buhari Project. by naijapips04: 1:25pm On Aug 28, 2018 |
SternProphet: GEJ also borrowed money from China to complete a part of this project. Do you see him gallivanting for having borrowed money? Except Buhari has a parochial mind, He will start some projects that he cannot finish. I trust he would feel bad if his successors do not acknowledge his efforts. |
