Pastor Paul Adefarasin teaches 'God is Taking Me Somewhere' by wikido: 3:45pm On Aug 28, 2018
“Watch out for me, God is taking me somewhere” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

This sermon is energetic, powerful, brilliant and transforming. The central scripture is from Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Here are 4 things you can learn from the sermon:

1. We are connected to God

We are connected to God and in principle; what this means is that if we understand him correctly, we can’t run out of stuff. If we believe firmly, we won't ever be broke of anything anymore. We won’t run out of joy, peace, money or anything we need to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

We can go much further than we have come already and be much better than we are now, stronger, fitter and much more healthy because God is unlimited and we are connected to him. God’s connection to us is not based on our performance, how good we are or how well behaved we are. His bond to us is based on his purpose, and his purpose is something that belongs to him.

2. There is always a way

When we run out of pathways of passage and ideas, when we have nowhere else to go and when we don't see any possibility, Jesus is there. He will always be the way the truth and the life. There is always a way, and Jesus is our way. God showed Moses his way in his 80s when he called him out to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses was astonished when he saw his gifting in the backside of the woods.

God usually reveals our gifting to us in its elementary and raw capacity, when there's nobody else looking so that we can practice with it in private. If you have the gift and the privacy and you don't practice, your gift will never be strong enough to take you anywhere powerful enough. In the case of Moses, he was naturally and supernaturally gifted. The natural gift was enhanced by his season of years in Pharaoh's house, but his supernatural gift was developed in the privacy of his ostracisation in exile.

3. Problems are opportunities

Problems are only opportunities to bring forth the power of God in your life. Without challenges, you have no progress. Your problems are just obstacles set in motion to appease the equivalence of the power in you to help you overtake it.

No matter what your problem is, God would never have let that problem come if he didn't think what he put in you were able to surmount it. The children of Israel had a problem when they were stranded at the Red Sea, God turned the problem into an opportunity to show his great power by dividing the Sea.

4. If you think like Christ, you will be like Christ

The Bible says “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ.” In other words, you don't need Christ to show up in every situation. You already have his mind, and when you have his mind, you have him. If you think like Christ, you can have what he has, and you can do what he does.

You can go where Christ goes, and you can be anything that he already is because you have his mind. “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he” - Prov 23:7. When Jesus Christ gave us his mind, he gave us his creativity. We are as creative as he is. If they give us lemons, we can make lemonades out of them.

About Pastor Paul Adefarasin:

From his mother’s living room in Lagos, Paul Adefarasin established House On The Rock Church in 1994 with just a few attendees. Proof of his calling is that the living room church has blossomed into a Ministry that has over 50 daughter churches in Africa and Europe.. A well-known mentee of Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Paul has been fervent in his message of hope to the world and especially the African continent where he resides. He is also the Founder and President of the Rock Foundation; a charity based Organization committed to social reformation, education, provision of healthcare and relief work for ex-convicts, drug addicts, and the downtrodden and disadvantaged in Nigeria and West Africa.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin’s capacity to teach, speak and preach from a personal and theological platform has strengthened and encouraged people all over the world. The Ministry promotes reconciliation, redemption and reformation cutting across denominational and social divides. He has a burning passion for seeing the rehabilitation of his generation, his nation and his continent.

“Our vision is to be the voice of excellence, the hand of power and a bridge of hope. We believe in the power of God to change lives and value the practical application of His Word to make a difference in who we are and what we do. Believing and obeying His Word leads us to a discovery of real life and a hope for eternity; this is what the Bible teaches us, that Jesus Christ came as God’s gift to the world with a message of Good News.”
