Fresh facts have emerged why the acclaimed Abia industrialist, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah postponed his declaration for Abia Governorship race which was supposed to have held on Tuesday, 28th August, 2018 and may eventually not contest the 2019 General elections.

Far from the family exigencies cited by his media aides as the reason for the postponement of the declaration, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah seems to be meeting brick walls in his aspiration to pilot the affairs of the state from next year.

Investigation reveals that the most remote reason why the declaration was postponed is not unconnected to the last Sunday meeting of Ukwa Ngwa enlarged caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) held at Hotel de La Paix, Aba.

Rising from the meeting the Ukwa Ngwa APC caucus among other things, reiterated their unflinching resolve to support only a gubernatorial candidate from Ukwa Ngwa Extraction.

This resolution coupled with other earlier signs and body languages of those who are expected to give life to the aspiration of the Onuaku born politician are the reasons why Dr. Uche Ogah may not be in the race this time around.

Prior to this resolution, our investigations also revealed that there is also this seeming cold shoulder coming from the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state towards the soft spoken Onuaku born businessman cum politician, even in his Abia North Senatorial zone as most of the key leaders of APC are not in support of his aspiration and well disposed to support any aspirant from Ukwa Ngwa extraction as the only viable ticket that will ensure victory for APC.

According to sources close to one of the leaders of the party in the state who sought anonymity, "Uche Ogah's romance With Okezie Ikpeazu is not a secret to the leaders of Abia APC. How can he claim to be in the opposition while he still nominates Commissioners to Ikpeazu's cabinet... He is not serious".

A further investigation reveals that Dr. Uche Ogah allegedly nominated the current Commissioner for sports, Hon. Solomon Okoji while he claims to be a member of APC, and it is alleged that he is just a " mole" in APC working towards the actualization of Okezie Ikpeazu's second tenure, awaiting his blessing come 2023 when he expects Ikpeazu to support him.
Our source also hinted that, an APC youth Leader from Obingwa, who bears an Edo name was lectured by one of the aides to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to cajole Ogah into the race and get money from him, with a promise to give him political appointment if Ikpeazu is reelected and posited that the Uturu born politician cannot win the Governorship election proper if given the APC ticket as Ukwa Ngwa bloc are known to support their own and Ogah having the ticket will make it easy for Ikpeazu to overrun other Candidates.
Another reason why Dr. Uche Ogah has not fully thrown himself is the insinuation in many quarters that he is broke. It is alleged that he has not been able to pay his workers for many months, while most of his fuel outlets are shut down completely. Ogah’s close associates are also lamenting that the Uturu born politician and business man is dead broke. "You know the federal government is owing him, when the part payment was made, the bank (name withheld) didn't release the money because he owes the bank" - he added ".

Recall also that sometime last year, Okezuo Abia women led by Mrs Nnenna Obewu Onwuka and Barr Mrs Loveth Ofoegbu paid a courtesy visit to chief Ogah which many believe was sponsored by Abia State Government as a way of extending an olive Branch to Dr. Ogah.

As it stands today, it is believed that Chief Nyerere Anyim, who was pulling the Rochas strings, has somersaulted and is currently in consonance with his kinsmen from the Ukwa Ngwa axis. To add to Uche Ogah’s woes, his media aides have launched an attack on Sir, Marc Wabara, the Leader of Ukwa Ngwa caucus, a move seen by many as courting more enemies for him. In Ukwa East and West, the name Uche Ogah stinks to high heavens as the people believed he is driven by ego and selfishness to deny Ukwa people the Senate slot, having patiently waited for 12 years of Sen. Enyi Abaribe, and attacking their Leader, Sir Wabara is the worst he can do. Our investigation reveals that, direct or indirect primary elections, Ogah will not get one vote in the entire, Ukwa East and West.

With all these uncertainties, it will be unwise for Dr. Ogah to step into the arena without the backing of critical stakeholders within the party, while the Ukwa Ngwa Bloc within the party still believes that it is their turn to produce the Governor if Ikpeazu is voted out.

The preceding days will determine the veracity of this investigation and further give credence to the information accompanying it. But from all indications, the option left for Uche Ogah is to toe the line of reasoning by throwing his support to the Ukwa Ngwa extraction aspiration and make himself a godfather or venture once again into the murky waters and run a primary elections that the odds are clearly against him and that will diminish his political profile and render his future political moves in tatters.

He should go pay his staff salaries of 17 months and stop all these his political ambition
