Supervisor, Tax Compliance & Audit - Oil & Gas

The Supervisor, Tax Compliance & Audit has the primary responsibility for assessing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with tax legislations and regulatory requirements for all the sub-sectors of the Industry. Provide annual tax calendar for all operating entities and monitor compliance with the set timelines. Co-ordinates tax audit process for both State and Federal Tax Authorities.
Co-ordinates relationship with all the Tax Consultants providing services to the Operating entities. Ensures that appropriate tax and statutory deductions are made from employees’ compensation and benefits. Coordinates the implementation of tax planning strategies and compliance processes developed by Strategy & Planning Unit. Ensures that the tax reported in the audited accounts of operating entities are reviewed and approved by the Finance Managers of the entities.   Develop models / templates for IFRS Tax reporting requirements for the company.  Ensures timely remittance and filing of monthly Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) returns by all operating entities. Prepares the Income Tax computations for operating entities in the downstream and midstream sub-sector of the Industry. 1st Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related area. 3 - 5 years cognate work experience from a reputable organization or Tax Practice with specialist skill in Petroleum Profit Tax compliance as added advantage. ACA, ACIT are added advantage.
