Hi peeps, I would like to know from you all what the basic problems with all our L.G's are in Nigeria.Thanks!!!!

Most have no real power though they take advantage to collect money from people for services

They should be given small powers like being in charge of the LG environment-cleaning, drainage and residential parking and Education within their District

at the moment they dont do anything on their own just wait for governor to give them capaign funds to paste posters

LGs are bedevilled with the same issues as those affecting state and federal governments. Nigerian politicians are bereft of any political ideology and are only interested in what serves their purpose.

The local government and the federal government are a waste of resources.
The amount of money going to all the local governments in some states is about half the total state budget. The local government chairmen seem to be under no authority or accountability. The federal goverment on the other hand takes the lion's share of the revenue but have no impact on the people at all. The people live in the states. They feel the effect of the states and not the federal government. Can someone point out three things they have directly benefitted from the federal government in the last six years? Like good roads, hospitals, security etc.
