Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information on Tuesday said Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State is constitutionally allowed to choose his son-in-law as his successor when his tenure ends.

There has been controversy in the Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as some stakeholders in the party are complaining over Okorocha ‘s choice of Uche Nwosu, his son-in-law, as his successor.

But speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Momoh, a national leader of the party said there is nothing in wrong in the governor choosing his son-in-law as long as he didn’t impose him on the people.

“What is wrong in Okorocha wanting his son-in-law to succeed him? There is nothing wrong with that. Is the son-in-law constitutionally qualified to contest for governorship election or not?

“The only thing he cannot do is to impose his son-in-law on anybody. You can spend your money to put someone you want there but you cannot impose the person on the people,” he said.
