YPP PLEDGES TO ACTUALIZE TRANS-KALABARI ROAD AND ENSURE EVEN DISTRIBUTION OF DEVELOPMENT - Hon. Omangima Harry.

The Rivers State chapter chairman of the Young Progressive Party(YPP) Hon. Omangima Harry has reiterated his party's commitment to ensure the even distribution of development in Rivers State.

Speaking during an interview session with media practitioners, Hon.Harry said that over the years successive administration in Rivers State had made jest of the word "Development" with the worst been the trans-Kalabari road which has become a campaign slogan for major political parties every election year, even as these political parties lack the political ‘sincere’ will to match ‘words with action’ knowing that, bulk of our nation's resources comes from this areas. But YPP, a progressive and a community service oriented party will change all that if voted massively in the forthcoming Elections.

He informed that, Rivers State can not grow when there is a deliberate lopsided distribution of developmental projects and that it is obvious that these parties had at one time or the other held power in the state, therefore, they lack capacity to in this 21st century bring up to speed the needed economic and developmental revolution in Rivers State.

He stated that "the economic importance of even distribution of development of any state can not be overemphasized, as Rivers State has the potential of becoming the 21st century economic hub of Niger Delta,this can only be possible when Rivers people elect candidates with vision for Rivers State and not our regular politicians with personal mission or vendetta, and to stop this ‘relay race’ politics of handover in the state.

The chairman said "We all must work together to ensure the equitable distribution of wealth, opportunity and power in our state."

Hon. Harry explained that Rivers youths, fathers, mothers and the general public have a lot to benefit should they join hands with the Young Progressive Party to ensure that development is distributed and not centered in one locality or allow the state to be run as ‘personal estate’.

The Rivers State party boss charged members of the public especially youths to take active part in politics and not to leave it in the hands of career politicians alone, And also use the opportunity given through the recently signed ‘Not Too Young To Run’ bill to register as members of the Young Progressive Party in their various LGAs and seek elective positions as the 2019 election approaches, emphasising that the party platform is virgin and open to the people of Rivers State.
