Why you should go to a DRIVING SCHOOL

In Nigeria, the concept of driving school is only reasonable for business but not necessarily as a measure of doing the right thing. Many would rather prefer their husbands, mechanics, friends or at times just anyone to teach them the art of driving and while it has worked for some, it has not for others.

In order not to deviate from the focus of this discourse, I would simply say that going to an accredited(take note of the word 'accredited') driving school is the best thing you can do to yourself or your ward as far as driving is concerned. Obviously, though it cannot be denied that there are shabby driving schools where things are muffled together, there are also professional driving schools where they really know what they are doing. It is your choice to determine which one you want go to.

Now, should you decide to go to a professional driving school, here are the benefits you stand to gain:

1. Accurate Defensive Driving: Not just anyone can teach you to be an 'ADD' driver because mastering the three 'c' rules of driving isn't just by pressing and turning, it involves the strategic guidance of an experienced instructor who will patiently teach you the principles of mastering the art of driving. So, to be an 'ADD' driver, it takes a professional driving school to achieve that.

2. Articulate Driver: Evidently, the Nigerian road has shown that there are more daft drivers than articulate ones which is why at least one person dies of road accident every 15mins in Nigeria. Many of the road accidents that occur on our roads could have been avoided if only most drivers are truly articulate. By articulate, it means they have been taken through a rigorous review and practice of various road situations and signs which is certainly not monopolised by just a single person. Professional driving schools spend a lot to compile these reviews.

3. Spend little to save thousands: I consider this as one of the major benefits of going to a professional driving school. Yes, the bill of a driving school maybe on the high side but when you sit to reflect on it, it will amount to a small token compared to what you will spend fixing any damage that may occur while training. By the way, who says damaging your car is a sure sign that you are indeed learning? Well, it is simply because you lack the touch of a professional driving school.
