APC Direct Primaries & It's Implications by padypadyng(m): 9:57am On Sep 11, 2018 |
APC is currently the biggest political party in Nigeria, with the consensus of the president and it's leader Adams Oshiomole, the party have decided to adopt the direct primary election comes 2019 elections. Firstly let's look at what a direct primary election really means. A direct primary election, which will be used by APC across all state in Nigeria for it's primaries comes 2019, functions as a preliminary election whereby voters decide their party's candidates. In an indirect primary, voters elect delegates who choose the party's candidates at a nominating convention. This means that APC wants popularized candidates not rich candidates. This also means that, those that defected to the party seeking for political offices might as well loose out during the primaries, because the APC members whether big or small are entitled to make the big decision for any candidate. This also means that, APC wants politicians with grass root mandate to win their various primaries to enable president Buhari return back to office in 2019. The truth about this whole stuff is that the APC wants to win the presidential election comes 2019. Secondly Oshiomole wants to wrestle down the grips of major APC titans and make them flawless. This means that, the roses that are attached with delegation will no more be priced. And the truth is that, this method will be good for the APC party. 1 Like |
