Report filtering in from Badarawa town in Shinkafi Local Government Area of ​​Zamfara State, has it that at least 11 people have been killed after unknown gunmen stormed their community this morning by 9.30 am.

It was gathered that the attackers immediately opened fire on the villagers and killed at least 11 people, with about 23 persons injured. 

A local resident disclosed that some of the victims have been taken to hospitals in the local government and Gusau, the capital of the state.

Meanwhile, Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari recently said that more people were killed in his state than in Benue, Taraba and Plateau States.

He called on his colleagues in the three states not to view the situation as ethnic or religious conflicts, but pure criminality.

Speaking at a town hall meeting on the federal government’s measures to curb killings, Yari said: “The number of people killed in Zamfara state outnumbered those killed in the three states combined and those responsible for the killings are somewhat professing the same religion with those being killed.”

Only a STUPID gov will utter the nonsense above. Is mass genocide of helpless people daily by terrorist now a competition for this useless govt? So because more people were slaughtered by terrorist herders/rustlers in Zamfara, other state govs should fold their arms and watch their people massacred and wiped away with their lands occupied by terrorist fulani herdsmen? If Zamfara gov is comfortable watching his people die in their hundreds daily at the hands of terrorist, that is fine. But govs in other states will not fold their hands nor tolerate genocide on their people by marauding terrorist seeking to dislodge people from their God given land.

Buhari needs to do something quick about these killings because this is beyond the state govt.

While serving in Zamfara 2016, i observed the following reasons why security is a very big challenge in the Northern part of Nigeria;
*there is scattered settlement - you can travel from one village with less than 20 houses to another for 2 hours without setting your eyes on another village.Remember,their land is as flat as our roads making it very easy for any gangs to operate at ease and flew into thin air.
*lack of jobs - these people are so backward(my apology) that as big as my local govt is,there is no bank,no company,sachet water factory is from the city thereby making us to buy in bulk because we don't know when next they will be coming.Their major source of livelihood is local mining which they have to travel to miles away thereby making them vulnerable to bandits.
It is just so pathetic.
