Abuja – Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Monday, revealed that he and other members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) betrayed former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.

Speaking on a personal note, he said his heart was with President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 polls, but owing to public ridicule and fear of being accused as anti-partisan, he could not openly align with Buhari then.

The immediate past Senate Minority leader stated this when he led elders and leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on a courtesy visit to President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Akpabio who recently defected to the ruling APC, also alleged that throughout the 16 years reign of the PDP at the federal level, not a single federal road project was executed.

He also boasted that Akwa Ibom will be the first state from the South-South where the APC will emerge victorious in the 2019 general elections.
