But let me predict that FASHOLA prefers to be Governor of Lagos State for another tenure than "try a luck" on presidency while allowing a PDP intrusion loophole is Lagos.

If the AC pick Ribadu they will have made the most pragmatically brilliant choice possible for victory . Even as everyone is talking about the end of zoning what would appeal to all Nigerians more than a popular Northern candidate (this keeps Northerners happy) that enjoys undeniably more popularity in the South ( like Ribadu) than Jonathan can manage?

The AC will be thinking that they can keep everyone happy with the formula of adopting a popular, brave , tried and tested, progressive and internationally respected  Northerner who is loved by virtually all Nigerians. That way the North gets to feel they have gained what belongs to them and Nigeria , through an AC win, actually gains a leader who will deliver progress and development.

The truth is that Jonathan will only defeat Ribadu if he is able to perform brilliantly before the elections next year. So far , aside talk, Jonathan has done nada . He is running out of time. The only option , if Ribadu runs against him, will be for the PDP to rig the elections.

The AC will be assuming that the PDP will not find it easy rigging in Jonathan against a Northerner majority of Nigerian may back. Ribadu , if he takes on a Jonathan that does nothing significant between now and next year, will sweep the North and majority of the South. It will be very difficult to rig against a man who even the Soyinka's, Falana's , Fawehinmi's (if he were alive) and secretly (because they are PDP members) the ken Nnamani's will likely support.

Jonathan has a huge task ahead of him IMO and he is failing , so far, by postponing actions that could gain him huge support  (privatisation of the power sector for example) till after the election next year.  Jonathan , if he is not planning to rig next year, should take even one project alone that means a lot to Nigerians (power sector or the revamp of woeful federal roads are examples ) and bully his way to success in that one area. Nigerians would then be left wanting more same as Lagosians want a second term for Fashola.

That Jonathan is operating at snail pace , when he is aware he has an election to win against others who are more popular and sagacious, is proof that the PDP will attempt to rig the election next year because they will know that Jonathan cannot defeat a popular Northerner like Ribadu if he has not  improved the lives of Nigerians beyond rhetoric and populist talks .

I want Jonathan to run as the PDP candidate , so that zoning is destroyed for good, but I want the former EFCC boss to win so that in Ribadu , and for all his fault , Nigeria will gain what it needs the most at this delicate stage in its existence i.e a brave and progressive President who will not be afraid to take on and defeat the various cabals and interest groups who have kept us underdeveloped when God has blessed us immensely.

The bolded parts illustrates , vividly , the problems with Nigeria i.e how we choose leaders based on ethnicity/bias/flawed premises . So , in your opinion , Jonathan will win if , coupled with a poor political history, he does zilch from now till next year ? He will win , even against far more brave and sagacious men , when , up till now, he has a near zero record of leadership efficacy?

It is interesting to note that , given how Nigeria is needy of tried and tested progressive leaders, coupled with how many of us are exemplary individuals anywhere in the world when merit is paramount, some of you still want to gamble , pot luck style, on folks who have shown nothing to suggest that they will do the right thing for Nigeria.

We can spin facts all we want (as was done for Yar Adua - "most fiscally responsible governor in Nigeria" blah,blah,blah) but the truth is that Jonathan is , at best , a mediocre leader promoted above his station by the "business-as-usual" political dynasty ruining Nigeria.

Ribadu has his faults but most Nigerians , from looking at his history in the public eye, fervently believe that he will do what is best for Nigeria by rejecting and resisting the parasitic cabals and business-as-usual crew. Who can say the same of Jonathan when , like Yar Adua, we have no record/history of meritorious performance to judge him on?

If ribadu accepts to contest 4 president, i will defintely vote 4 him and  am sure that nigerians, in their millions will come out enmass to vote ribadu. because we want change for the better not the corrupt PDP (PEOPLE DESTRUCTIN PARTY) that has done nothing 4 the past 11years but loot the treasury  empty.
