UNIJOS Hostel Attack, Full Story:

Several students of the University of Jos, has been reported dead following yesterday’s UNIJOS hostel attacks.

One student of the University, known as “Kums” has been confirmed dead after he was rushed to the hospital followings multiple wounds.

It was reported that Armed bandits in military Uniforms attacked the University hostel (Naraguta hostel) killing scores.

A video going viral online shows numerous students of the University fleeing to safety, after the University’s female hostel was attacked.

The identity of the attackers is still yet to be known though our reporters point to the fact that the assailants are Hausa neighbours who are on reprisal killings for their colleagues killed, and there is no response yet from the University’s public relations office or the office of the state Governor.

Also, a student of the University has been missing for 2 days since the unrest started.

*PRESS RELEASE*
I bring you solidarity greetings in the name of the struggle with hope of victory.

Sequel to the unfortunate unrest within the Jos metropolis, I wish to state with a heavy heart that to the best of my knowledge one Jossite has been confirmed dead and one injured. Two other unidentified persons were also injured and are receiving treatment.

I also want to use this medium to debunk the rumors making rounds that 7 students were lost in the incident.

All Jossites are hereby urged to stay calm and be vigilant as well.

We shall in due time make known to the public the full report of the situation.

Meaningful development can only take place in an atmosphere of peace, let's live in peace with one another.
