thatigboman:don't mind them. its sad that nigeria as a country has the worst set of human citizens, who defends even the indefensibles. instead of asking why one god-father should prefer a mental-unstable person, than ambode or any other mentally fit individual. if jagaban succeeds in this evil enterprice, like he succeeded in foistering sick bubu on us. nigeria 've spend a lot on sick bubu, & still spending, funny enough nigerians don't even know how much 've been spent, because of no accountability. you want to place the fate of millions of lagosians in the hands of a mentally-unstable individual, and you want ambode to keep quite about it, then he's not a patriotic lagosian. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Mynd44: Anybody could have informed the governor without going to the hospital. Mr Sanwo Olu isnt living an isolated life now. There would be people who would have had prior information about his past who would a verifiable source. So lets not be quick to judge. Everybody has secrets that they think is secret but are not secrets |

I do not lean on any side in this fight because Ive seen worse than this and at the end both sides reconciled and made up. On this topic many issues are brought to surface. 1. Issues of health and well being of a public office holder particularly at executive posts should not be a secret. If the medical condition of a contestant is too personal and cannot be revealed that should be ground for disqualification. 2. The electoral act is silent on ill-health as ground for disqualification. Therefore Sanwo-Olu, by law, cannot be disqualified because of a medical condition, healed, live or dormant. 3. While it isn't illegal, it is immoral for the Governor's Advisory Council, if they had this knowledge, to support the candidacy of Sanwo-Olu nonetheless. 4. The stress and pressure of the Executive post is far demanding than in the capacity of a Commissioner or Director-General and require a person of stable and sound mind. 5. The OP posted a document in which it clearly stated that the US charge is against the "funds" in the banks. In other words, the "funds" must table a motion of defense against forfeiture, failing to do that it will no longer be a personal property but its ownership will change and become government property. The plaintiff went further to give reason why it believes the fund must loose its status as personal property. It stated "probable cause"....in other words, an unverifiable suspicion. Like saying "we don't know for fact this money came from wages earned in a gainful employment or from selling real estate or dividends earned from capital investment....so we are concluding that it must be proceeds from drugs or...some other illicit financial trading (alias money laundering). This OP is therefore biased and his position on this matter should be viewed in light of that. He is attacking Tinubu rather than giving input on the topic of breach of professional ethics. |

Sadly there is no law specifically protecting patient records in Nigeria so no law would have been breached in revealing any clinical records from Gbagada general hospital in this case. Also it's unlikely the person who leaked the information was a doctor so the Hippocratic oath was not breached either. 1 Like |

dukie25:So if someone has a problem - say, depression or anxiety or teenage experimentation with hemp - and he is referred to a psychiatrist, he should not be allowed to live his life? He should be barred from political office? And it's okay for a hospital to realise such information to a politician? Do you people think at all? |

When the general good overrides an individual's private, the general good overrides. But it should have been revealed via a court action. Simple |

There's no way his health records can be protected if it is held in a paper folder like we all know. Asides that, the public need to know the history of the person contesting a public office. You get security cleared to work in government offices everywhere around the world and, they are always intrusive. |

bonechamberlain:...see enhh Ambode is finished. Even if he wins the primaries (which most likely he won't), he will be impeached as the Lagos State governor. Also, I pity the management of Gbagada general hospital because they will be 'roasted' immmedietely Sanwo Olu became the new Lagos governor. It's advisable for civil servants to stay off politics, partisanship and refused being used for political chess game. |
