When it comes to ride-hailing in Nigeria, Taxify has proven to be a success since it launched in Lagos and Abuja. Now, the web-based app which allows people to request a ride or a private driver from their phones using the Taxify app has decided to expand its services to Ibadan.

While making the announcement, “Uche from Taxify”, stated that this move is to provide employment opportunities for the city’s teeming youth while also providing affordable transportation for the people. In his words;

Our vision for the Nigerian market has always been to build the best way to move within all bigger cities whilst also providing a way for people to make money and the exciting thing about the city of Ibadan is how attractive it is for the same reasons – the city boasts a three-million plus strong population many of whom are young, vibrant people who simply need the right platform with which to make money for themselves on a flexible schedule.

The planned move will happen in the coming weeks, so if you’re in Ibadan, get ready because Taxify is coming to town.
