Focus: Characteristics of Selfish People

WORD FOR TODAY
When the works of flesh is at its fullest in the life of a man, he will not have an option but to be selfish. When the attributes of God does not find expression in a man's life selfishness comes to play!!!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (1Corinthians 13:4-6 NIV)

God is love. Anything that is not born out of love and sacrifice is selfish. No matter how good and nobel the work a selfish man does it cannot bless men. His motive and motivation in whatever he does is centered around him and for his gains. Selfish people irrespective of who they are; wife, husband, employee, employer, students, boss, pastor etc:

1. Cannot suffer long, They are not patient nor can they wait upon the Lord. They will always find their way.
2. They are not Kind: their act of kindness is for their selfish interest.
3. They are envious
4. They are boastful
5. They are very proud
6. They are very rude
7. They are self centered: they don't care about what happens to other or how they feel.
8. They are easily angered most especially when you stand in their way.
9. They don't forgive men their shortcomings.
10. They are prone to doing evil if that is what it takes to achieve their aims.

Selfish people are the most dangerous people on earth however they always dig their own graves and destroy themselves. You are called into a life of sacrifice and love. Don't be selfish!

Lord! Make me an embodiment of love; let your attributes find expression in my life in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Main Emphasis:
Selfish people are not loving nor do they care about the will of God in every quest for their desire!!!
