Unconfirmed reports reaching NAIJ.com indicates that Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for Accord Party


The news was announced on Twitter by a handle (@ogun_state) citing the state owned Ogun state television as its source



NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Governor Amosun recently threatened to defect from the APC if the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party fails to uphold the candidacy of his preferred governorship candidate, Abdul-Kabir Adekunle Akinlade.

The governor reportedly issued the threat during a meeting with some party leaders and his loyalists across the 20 local government areas of the state, held at his private residence located inside Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.

The governor who briefed his loyalists on the outcome of his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the national leadership of APC, did not mention the name of any party he considers defecting to.
