Ondo State Government has distanced itself from the crowning of a new spiritual king for Ayetoro community in Ilaje local government area of the State, Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi. In a press statement issued by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Leke Akeredolu, it described it as a selfish and an attempt to cause unrest. The statement assured the people that government has no hand in it. The statement reads in part :

The Ondo State Government wishes to disassociate itself from the crowning of one Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi as the sixth Ogeloyinbo and Spiritual Head of the Holy Apostles Church of Ayetoro in Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.

Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi purported corronation has violated the earlier agreement the state government had with him and Oba Micah Olaseni Ajijo.

It will be recalled that the State Government, through the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, recently held a peace meeting at the Government House in Akure, with Oba Ajijo and Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi, appealing to them to allow peace to reign in the oil rich community.

In the said meeting, Ajayi clearly stated that since the leadership crisis was inherited by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration, the interest of the state government is that peace return to the community.

There was an agreement with the state government by the two camps that the status quo should remain and that Oba Micah Ajijo should remain the recongised king.

The Deputy Governor was shock to read on the National dailies few weeks after the peace meeting that Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi has been crowned by the state government as the sixth Ogeloyinbo and Spiritual Head of the Holy Apostles Church.

Ajayi wishes to inform the general public, particularly people of Ayetoro that the state goverment has no hand in the coronation of Prophet Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi.

He warns that government will no longer tolerate any attempt by any individuals to use selfish interests to cause unrest in Ayetoro.

Ajayi appeals to the people of Ayetoro community to remain calm and continue to live together in love, peace and harmony.
