China Plans To Rewrite Bible To Reflect Buddhism And Confucianism

The Chinese government make plans to incorporate Buddhist scripture and Confucian teachings into the Holy Bible and edit the worship music to include Chinese characteristics. This is  in order to constantly control the growth and influence of Christianity in China.  The of persecution watchdog has revealed this.

The founder of the persecution watchdog organization China Aid, The Rev. Bob Fu, reportedly told Congress that the Three Self Patriotic Movement and the Chinese Christian Council (China's state-sanctioned Protestant bodies) have brought about  a five-year plan on "promoting the Sinicization of Christianity," The Christian Post reports.

Being finalized at a meeting this March, the plan proposes "cultivating and implementing the socialist core values" and will be executed  by the national religious affairs bureau. According to Fu every province, autonomous region and municipality's TSPM and CCC seminaries and churches must cooperate with it.

In order to Sinicize/bring Christianity under Chinese control, the government plans to "retranslate" the Old Testament and provide new commentary to the New Testament. Fu revealed this.

Red.  Fu made it clear that 'Sinicization of Christianity ' plainly mean to transform 'Christianity in China' into 'Chinese Christianity'.

The plan focuses  that 'the heart and soul of Christianity's Sinicization is to Sincize the Christian theology,' and even to 're-translate the Bible or re-write biblical commentaries.

A retranslation would be a combination and summary  of the Old Testament with some Buddhist scripture and Confucian teachings and new commentary for the New Testament.

Fu told CP that there are outlines made so that the new Bible should not look westernized but Chinese and should reflect Chinese culture of Confucianism and socialism. The old testament will be messed up while the new testament will have new commentaries to interpret it.

Fu said  that the five-year plan proposes  to  incorporate the Chinese culture into church worship services, hymns and songs, clergy attire, and the architectural style of church buildings. It includes editing and publishing worship songs with the ethics of the Chinese and the promoting of such songs using Chinese art of forms, such as  Chinese painting,  calligraphy and inscription to express Christian Faith.

Fu disclosed that already, state officials have made  20,000 underground house churches to close up  and join the state-sanctioned church. Leaders of these churches must give  their loyalty to the Communist party.

"The first test they have to pass is to  publicly pledge they will [uphold] the party's words and the party's path. These slogans are being hanged around in various church, including Catholic churches, on the walls and on the doors on the entrance door, it states, 'Listen to the words of the party, follow the path of the party.'  As Christian believers, we are taught to obey the command of the Lord and listen to the command of the Lord.

Basically , the communist party wants to impose themselves as the Lord over the church.

Fu believes  the "doctrine of justification of faith by Jesus Christ is too narrow."

Besides, they wouldn't be the first as every translation promotes the ideology of the translator as a study of the KJV shows. Even Paul put his own spin on Christ.

The Chinese government sees the problem in allowing christianity to decide their culture. Chinese man knows that his culture is better than christianity.

Nigerians on the other hand, like to put christianity before their culture. Imagine people taking church wedding as more important than traditional wedding. Nonsense
