Fuse and Base (Cut-out)
*
A Fuse is nothing more than a short length of wire designed to melt and separate in theevent of excessive current. Fuses are always connected in series with the component(s) to be protected from over current, so that when the fuse blows (opens) it will open the entire circuit and stop current through the component(s).
*
Advantages of an Electrical Fuse
*
It is the cheapest form of protection, and it does need any maintenance.
*
Its operation is completely automatic and requires less time as compared to circuit breakers.*
*
The smaller sizes of fuse element impose a current limiting effect under short-circuit conditions..
*
And it comes with different Amperes depending on the purposes or usages in order to meet the needs of various users..
