Seriously I still don't understand it , who brought Islam to Yoruba land?

I'm from Edo state and I'm a Benin man,i have never see or heard of Benin Muslims just some few people practising Islam in auchi side..

I still don't know how Islam got to Edo state or Yoruba land cause half of Yoruba indigenes are Muslims,why so??

Islam came from the north. Yoruba's who went to conduct business joined the religion and took it back to their place.
Also, some northerners migrated from the north to Yoruba land and established the religion there

Islam came to Yoruba not only through d Hausa's but also Malians who conducted businesses too,dats y in Yoruba land Its called Esin Imale(From the Malians)

We Yoruba's especially our monachs want more than one wife so since Christianity will not let Yoruba's to marry more than one wife they switch to Islam which permits for more wives.
