5 Ways To Prevent Your Facebook Account From Hackers by 3mmyz(m): 10:39am On Oct 22, 2018
Talk about the biggest social platform on the internet, Billions of people from around the world connecting to one another experience the good, the bad and the not so good bad, many of us might have. Facebook account hack, some might have heard of it and to a few are asking; " Can one's Facebook account be Hacked ? "

I felt i should blog about this because one cyber scammer wanted to make a noob out of me just recently. So i decided that I'd drop a few tips on one could secure their Facebook account from hungry hackers.

Here are my 5 Tips to securing your account from hackers

1. Use A Strong Password

This shouldn't be confusing to you, using a weak password would lead you into the hands of unethical hackers, not you in actuality but your account.

Passwords like date of birth, phone numbers and other names aren't great choices for creating a password.

You have to make passwords that can't be easily

Aside loosing your accounts to scamps, you can as well be exposing vital information, such as contacts, work, address, etc.

So if you're guilty of using weak passwords kindly effect a change by using Stronger passwords. Examples can be a combination of alphabets, special symbols and numbers.

An Example: Strong042!
Explanation: The above example is a combination of UPPERCASE letter the first "S" the others "trong" are in lowercase letters "042" in numbers and "!" A special symbol.

2. Avoid Logging With Devices That Aren't Yours

This might be a strong one but it's worth it. Try and avoid using your friends phones or even cyber cafe's to login Facebook.
But if you do, be careful, try using incognito/private mode while browsing and do not save passwords on the browser ( check browser's settings or click No when save password prompt appears) whether you're using your friends or you're in a cyber café be careful.

Your friends might get careless or may decide to be naughty, either ways always use private mode when you're using another persons phone, by doing this no password or history is saved during surfing.

If you don't remember all if this just remember to at least log out of the device when you're done.

3. Watch out for Spammy Links

An example: so basically i had suspected one account in my friend lists, i clearly did not send a friend request to that person. I had messaged the account in pidgin English, my suspicion proved to be true when the supposed White guy responded in an apt and fluent pidgin, from then on I knew a friend of would have been hacked. I proceeded to inquire for myself, the fella responded by texting a link to me that i should enter to send him Friend request in his other account.

Smart guy? No! I didn't enter the link he sent, you could possibly have texted me your name than going through the stress of preparing a link, who does that?

If i had followed the so called Smart guy's link, my Facebook account could have been comprised. I feel lucky.

Long story short: avoid visiting spam links, most especially from friends you don't know. Your account can be comprised if you don't adhere to these tips.

4. Phishing Sites

There are sites that have the same outlook design with Facebook, there aim is not to appreciate the company's design, no way! There plan is to phish out your user name and passwords when you enter them on their Facebook look alike site.

When next you're browsing and you try logging Facebook, ensure you're on www.facebook.com main site by checking the URL tab to confirm, before proceeding to input your details.

Despite this trick being old, a lot of people still fall prey to the hackers.

5. Avoid Shady Emails

I once got a message saying that I should change my password, that my account had being comprised, i muttered then checked the address of the sent mail and behold, it was not from Facebook.

I hope this helps
