Tragedy occurred today by around 2.30pm at Diamond Bank Ahmadu Bello way Jos when gunmen dressed in military uniform and which came to the bank in military taskforce Hilux tried to gain access into the bank premises, but were prevented by the security men at the gate.
According to eyewitness, the assailants claimed that they wanted to use the ATM at the bank premises, but were told to park outside the bank premises as there was no parking space inside the bank premises. This action of the security, according to our source infuriated the assailants who jumped down from their Hilux to confront the security men at the bank gate. One of the assailants opened fire on the security men, killing one on the spot while others sustained various degree of injuries.
Immediately the security man was killed, the assailants jumped into their military branded Hilux and zoomed away. The shot security man was rushed to Our Lady of Apostle's Hospital Jos, where he was confirmed dead by the doctors.
Investigations are ongoing according to the Commander Joint Task Force, Operation Safe Haven to ascertain the identities of the assailants and where they came from, as they were suspected to be fake soldiers as their Hilux was not properly marked by the Joint Task Force Number code, but was only marked 'OPS' according to one of the survivors of the attack.

I was around there when it happened. Every one ran away not really knowing where the bullets came from. Nigeria is Upside Down, it's just a matter of time before the so called south & FCT start experiencing same issues. We all need to stand up against our common enemy. This enemy is not the Muslims, Christians, south or north, not even the so called 'fulani herdsmen';the enemy through all the years has remained the same, albeit masking itself under different names or even under different political platforms. This common enemy, ladies & gentlemen, lo and behold has always been the Nigerian Government. We need the kind of revolution that started in Tunisia by Mohammed Boazizi that triggered the Arab uprising.
We cannot continue recycling same people in power and expect different or better results! If it's not a former military this, then it's a former governor that has to be the next senator. SMH!

I was also at the terrific scene when this happened. It's rather unfortunate that Nigerian security system is so messed up that it can no longer protect the lives and properties of innocent Nigerian citizens. For God sakes if in broad day light such a terrible thing can happen to a citizen who was only doing his job. Killed in cold blood for no reason at all, I wonder what kind of a country the government is running.

They were masked o, how can cctv identify them. That raises another question, why would Nigerian army personnel be wearing masks? Is that not what Boko Haram ppl do?

They were not masked, they wore black and were obviously real soldiers...
