Phew! Since Monday I have not used my two naked eyes, as Zebrudaya would say, to see internet, as I have been so engulfed in my training programme. Intercontinental Bank is determined to raise the best workforce in the world of banking, in keeping with her goal of becoming the number one bank in Nigeria, with a strong global presence, and I sympathize with her. I am determined to give my best, by learning everything she has to teach me, and reading the handouts. It feels like school again, and I want to see if I can be the best in my training class. We are about 90, and the best three students will be rewarded. Our class is also to draw up a communique, and I hope to be one of the editors of that; the communique will likely reach Akingboola, our god. It will tell that blessed man how to move us forward. Another thing I like about my training is the food. This morning, the bank provided us meatpies and tea (or coffee, depending on your preference); and in the afternoon, there was a buffet of different kinds of food: semovita, coconut rice, pounded yam, garri, and series of soups. The classroom is fully air conditioned, and the projector facilities are all working well. We nearly 90 students seem to be handpicked from heaven, and I loved being with them. I particularly loved my seat mates, a girl married to an engineer in Shell, and a young man who dreams of doing banking for only one year, and then getting into the Oil and Gas world. We all have tall dreams, it seems. May our hopes not be cut short, in Jesus' name. Amen. Let me go and read my notes. See you all later. |

KUWENA, I really congratulate you. I heard thought I will be able to meet you at surulere training school. But all the same, I believe God we still would have the opportunity to meet at NLNG Induction and maybe training. I was also rang up by Intercontinental on saturday 27/10 and I started training at Surulere Training School on Monday. I believe you should be at Ofa Training school, and I agree with you about the wonderful learning condition that is being provided by the Bank for us. I can say with confidence that no other bank provides such. When I heard about there vision and plan for the Bank and most of all for their staff, I really felt bad 'cause I know I will definitely cannever last long with them to benefit from all these, 'cause for sure I should be leaving them latest February next year either to join NLNG or Saipem where I should be fulfilled practicing what I read, engineering. But I pray that wherever I'm going to be working tomorrow, that the working condition and worker's welfare package should be better than what they have offered me. And what of wandel, was he in your batch or are they still going to call them in? 'cause I heard they should be calling in new batch by next week. Wish you all the best and pray I will be able to see you in person one day. |

Opoks, You know I do not only respect you but adore you, and I believe so is for a lot of people. But I would rather not understand whether you are being controversial for the fun of it or you really mean all you post here. May be you really want to keep the forum lively be just discussing on these issues and I would rather understand you in that case. Why? because I have always look up to you as somebody that has matured enough to handle some of these little little issues with every maturity. I remember when God father in mario puzio film chided his son, sunny that he musn't let his anger known, and so I believe with anybody that is matured. Why would you need to come back simply to challenge thought that just entered this thread and just have said his opinion. You know everybody is entitled to his opinion and no matter whatthought has said, it cannever in any way belittle your achievement in this thread but your reaction to that can. Please man, be the man we've always known you to be, all the best man, one love. |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by pgm(m): 10:15am On Nov 02, 2007 |
mavee1: Is this a deliberate attempt to distract us from the fracas that seems to have become our lot in this here thread? If so, fine. it's welcome for now! In fact it's fun!!! Now to answer the question in extension of the fun, Methinks flagship asset manager manages assets of the flagship variety . i don't think anything has happened to them except the rumour is true that the flag of their ship is flying at half-mast for God-knows-what!!!!!!!!! @mavee1 didn't mean to offend u, but i really think u will meet better and more informed GURUs as far as this subject matter is concerned in the business section of nairaland. Wish u all the best in your investment! it's WELL!!! |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by opokonwa(m): 11:48am On Nov 02, 2007 |
@Kenosym I must confess, if there was anyone I missed his posts and presence more than anyone else IT WAS YOU. Why? The way you came in when Adrianic and I were getting to know ourselves better, I was hoping your posts and presence were going to be more consisitent. apparently I was wrong Your posts diminished ever since. Since then, anytime you posted, I was always glad and expectant that you may soon become a dominant poster. i am still expectant. Back to the issue, Mr. Thought yarned his mind. I yarned my mind. Mind vs Mind = NO SKIN PAIN. Let us learn to say nice things about people. I know I am not a saint here But if you must say 'ill' about people it is best to say it while they are around. But 'loading all your shit' while I was away, my hands were down and my back in front of you and I have never had any business with you IS A WAY I DON'T LIKE TO FIGHT. It's not noble. You are not even giving the 'person' you assault any chance to defend himself. Once below: Hmmm………….opokonwa, ………………, self acclaimed – judge and jury, prosecutor abi persecutor , defendant and from a very personal pespective MR KNOW-ALL, finally bows to pressure. I ignored it and kept my cool. Twice Below: Rather than wasting time analysing statements of others, abusing others, displaying how vast our vocabularies are or crying over our TRANIEE BOXERS in the house (which the media would effectively do),let's focus,brain-strom and see how we can take the world by surprise(abeg not twin tower bombing ooooh-CIA, FBI, SSS, INTERPOL,take note). I again ignored it and kept my cool. Then: I remember when opokonwa came in newly, he and Adrian we throwing missiles everywhere, it was just like the Gulf war, You were representing israel, Opokonwa Iraq and Adrian America. While opokonwa and adrian were fighting, opokonwa would throw a few missiles at you, Adrianic would step in to defend you. . . . . . and it continued in that pattern Adrianic was even named defense minister. . . . . . , , . . . . . . . we all waited to see "israels" reply to such destruction. . . . . . . . . . . . what was your response . . . . . . (and on my sit I said shit, this guy is mature though opokonwa saw it as cowardice but it really didnt matter; it was his personal opinion)to me that was a true show of maturity. Naturally, we would have expected you to join the war but you did the exact opposite](that was why your post about haters etc really let you down) That did it! I had to respond to the 'bugger'. I dey my own je jee dey sleep, the guy no gree me sleep. YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME THE GUY GOT WHAT HE WAS LOOKING FOR. |
Re: Which Way Nlng? by opokonwa(m): 1:12pm On Nov 02, 2007 |
@pgm The problem with you is that you never take anything serious. You see everything as a joke OR IS IT THAT YOU SEE A JOKE OUT OF EVERYTHING WHICH MIGHT MAKE GOOD HUMOUR BUT AT TIMES, SERIOUS ISSUES HAVE TO BE FACED SERIOUSLY (YOU NO SABI FACE ISSUES WITH THE SERIOUSNESS THEY AT TIMES DEMAND.) On the contrary, I ere on the part of taking issues 'too seriously' at times. That is perhaps because I get passionate about almost anything I take an interest to. and perhaps 'emotional' too. though the emotion depends on what I feel at the time. And because I have a fault of 'giving it to you from the bottom of my heart' either 'good' or 'bad' I could end up scalding people Just like I end up winning a lot of friends and admirers easily. Until I learn 'how to pretend', 'tolerate' or manage people's 'fumblings' and/or 'differences' without showing my true emotions I GUESS THERE WILL BE MORE FIGHTS AND MORE EXCITEMENT I also need to learn how to be less bold and direct (and how to be an 'introvert', then 'how to stay out of trouble' . . . oops!) so that 'CONSTANT PEACE' can reign (SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! ) |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by adrianic: 2:12pm On Nov 02, 2007 |
i have read with so much dismay the posts on this thread since opoks decided to take his leave. i would naturally have replied but i decided to keep my cool taking into consideration some salient facts. first,i had just finished my stress with okoroboy and secondly i felt it was time i also got entertained. i remember when kuwena started this thread,he made it known dt it was to inform, educate, entertain and generally sustain us through the waiting period.at different times on the thread we have had people 'leading' the thread most notably kuwena and opokonwa. we have displayed our humanity on several occasions and from my point of view i felt dt was what made d thread interesting.this thread was never made for saints, monks or people who are spick and span and never make any mistakes. i say with all unequivocality dt this is d most interesting thread on nairaland(at least till the last 3 weeks). opoks has headed this thread most admirably and i have seen a couple of friends discussing this particular thread. opoks had a disagreement with kuwena which to me only goes to show our individuality and d fact that we are real on this thread.owing to a comment of kuwena(which he has since apologised over)opoks decided to leave.to me it was not a wrong decision because it is his fundamental right. my irritation came the next day when the first post i read was one utterly condemning opokonwa from a totally unfamiliar stranger who apparently had been reading the thread for a long time but refused to post.why then did he have to wait for opoks to 'retire' before finally deeming it fit to say something and thereafter prtraying himself as a man of peace(dt word has been so bastardised on this thread).opoks called it cowardice,i call it absolute mischief. opoks is back in full force, where is thought.this is not how to be a 'gentleman'.we must always be ready to bear responsibility for our actions. i bet when opoks leaves again, thought would come to post.some guys can be really embarrassing. i have had my beef with opoks and okoroboy but surprisingly, these are the two guys(if i am chosen by nlng) i most earnestly wish to meet(and my guy kenosky). the quarrels on the thread to me are only of the head and not of the heart.keeping a 'beef' in a 'refridgerator' for this long by thought is most disheartening more for a guy who never knew he existed.and to imagine that apart from pgm and kuwena(who apologised) no other person on the thread could caution thought or even defend opoks. if the truth must be told we all look forward to taking a look into opoks mind every morning.his posts have always been like an like an early morning coffee. it is then wrong for people who said nothing when thought was pouring his venom to start calling for peace now dt opoks has come back to defend his honour. peace without justice leaves us all pretenders and hypocrites.the truth must be told irrespective of whose ox is gored. |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by adrianic: 2:36pm On Nov 02, 2007 |
while reading the thread sometime last week i felt a need to check the statistics and it dawned on me dt we had over 33,000 people reading this thread on that day. definitely not all of them are waiting with us for nlng. but i can circumvent a guess.at least nothing less than a 100 hopefuls read this thread on a daily basis. why then is it dt only less dn 10 contribute regularly.people come here to get info on the recruitment process and when they are opportuned to get info they keep it to themselves. i cannot help but imagine how many hopefuls would have been able to survive the wait had it not been for this thread.at a stage here in abuja, there was this rumour that nlng had already finished its selection and had indeed called the successful ones.i remembered rushing like a mad man to the cafe knowing dt i would get authentic info from here. i have always strongly believed that it is virtually impossible for someone on this thread not to be chosen and i am also sure the good news would be broken here by successful peeps. that goes to show the power of the thread. it is pure selfishness for people to visit the thread regularly ,enjoy the materials from the minds of a few persons and refuse to do same. it even seems d moment some peeps are welcomed ,they take to their heels.welcoming people into a gathering is usually to show unity and encourage them to participate in the activities of the group.dt rule is observed more in the breach here. for those who post regularly, keep it up.i have a very 'wicked' info to share that would interest u all as it relates to nlng.pls send me ur e-mail addy and ur nairaland 'name'.my e-mail addy is drian16@yahoo.com. |

Re: Which Way Nlng? by opokonwa(m): 3:31pm On Nov 02, 2007 |
@adrianny I never knew there was still a man on this thread who could say things in black and white without fearing any retribution. I found myself alone in this group, with everyone shutting me up! when I tried to defend myself. Meanwhile, when I was assaulted from behind nobody spoke a word of encouragement If not for the strength of my character, the fact that Mr. Coward kept insulting me and the fact say I no send anybody I FOR NO COME BACK HERE. Meanwhile I was about calling on you to drop to ground zero but apparently our minds communicated faster. WELCOME BACK TO THE THE THREAD NOW THE OLD 'Gs' are coming to take thair place. This is what happens what happens when the land is appeased. |

opoks, the house of representatives has a new speaker. he is jimoh Bankole,a 37 year old Bachelor who is a 'two-termer in the house'. dt guy is in trouble.naija chics no go let am hear word again.i am sure abuja will have an influx of creamy chics now coming to try their luck at being the fourth lady of the federation. u know in the hierarchy or order of protocol, the speaker is the fourth person so his wife should be 'fourth lady'. so all d unmarried nigerian opekes ,over to u.i forgot to add dt the guy was described as a detribalised nigerian(tho all politicians claim to be) |

@ adrianic, how are you doing now? tidying up for the weekend and just sought to check out my favorite site. Still hope to talk with you some day. Guess Kuwena must have gisted the house about IB plc training. My friends tell me its great. @ opoks, welcome back to the house. Saw you've been absent for a while. Its refreshing to read your posts once again. Work is really intersting for me here at KPMG. Learning so fast that its an effort to keep up. Have a lovely week end everyone |

My dear Thought, @mhm called me. He said I should apologize to you that he has not contacted you all this while. He has been very busy, and has been on leave. He asks us not to worry, as in their own time the wait was longer. They did their assessment in their time in August, and the result came out in February the next year. In our case, the wait is not even as long. He however thinks that we will not have to wait more than November. He is sure that what seems as a delay is just their trying to get things ready for our coming. I found him very pleasant to talk with him: humble (I greeted him sir, and he said he was not a sir); helpful and cheerful. He wants us all to have hope. @mhm, if you are reading this, we all love you. Thanks for being there. PS: Adrian and Opokonwa, you both are welcome. |

Hmmmmmm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .opoks. . . . . . . . . when I read your mail, I laughed with exictment one of my many psychological treaments had walked again (You see if everybody kept on begging you to come back, you would have never come back. You would have remained on the backgroud enjoying how people beckon on you to return (the God-like spirit)). I is a simple tatics of human relation management. You say the exact opposite of what you expect of someone so that he does exactly what you expect of him/ It is mere psychcology, From your behavioural characteristics which I have studied carefully (i actually pick it from your posts- profiling), I knew that my last statement would definitely bring you back (its all about dealing with your emotional senses- I was almost disappointed when you delayed in replying)- and it did. So you see; you are really not in control of yourself or emotions as you proclaim. As for adrainic, you (opoks) said it yourself in one of your posts, he is (becoming) too predictable. Well that is by the way: kewena thanks for your info, I hope @mhm could still be more elaborate as it relates to the questions raise earlier. peace |

thought: Abeg Teacher don't teach me nonsense! When you read my posts, you cried with dismay 'CAUSE YOUR NEMESIS HAD WALKED IN thought: Kindly stop diverting attention from your legendary COWARICE You are not even in any position to discuss any matter concerning me IF NOT THAT YOUR 'BEEF' AND 'COWARDICE' WERE TOO OVERWHELMING FOR YOU TO COPE WITH, WITHOUT LETTING OUT SOME AIR. IT WAS CHOKING YOU I understand I can choose to walk-in and out of this thread anyhow I like you see, not even in your household or village can you find two men as bold and daring as I am. SAY THE TRUTH: YOU BEEF THIS GUY SO MUCH THAT YOU CAN'T STAND HIS ELOQUENCE AND DOMINANCE ON THE THREAD! AND YOU COVET HIS PLACE DIRTY, ENVIOUS COWARD You don't even deserve a decent response. thought: Your 'psychology' must have been propounded by 'coward professors'. I guess they also suggested that you come in at people's back and shout Spartans! only to run and hide? I also guess the same 'psychology' propounds that you get involved in other people's business, that you model your style after one of them and that you speak with double-mouths, depending on their reaction? PLEASE SAVE YOUR THEORIES FOR 'IDIOTS' I have encountered 'wiser cheats'. I don't really blame you I blame this audience that can just welcome any 'imposter' and declare him 'leader' thought: You just touched a Lion's tail here |

You can't just come in and take it by force, behind my back AND CERTAINLY NOT IN A COWARDLY FASHION. You probably underestimated me 'CAUSE IF YOU HAD, YOU WOULD HAVE THREADED MORE CAREFULLY DIRTY COWARD! |
