Following the rumor of the plan of the deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu to defect from PDP to APC, the National Organizing Secretary, NOS, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd) has now addressed the issue calling it the handiwork of mischief makers.

Akobundu, in a statement he signed on Wednesday, said, “Ekweremadu is PDP body and soul and is not leaving the party to anywhere”.

He stated that Senator Ekweremadu has contributed enormously to the growth of the party especially during its trying period and “cannot leave at this time when the party has been rebranded and is soaring high to regain power in the country in 2019”.
