Mixed Reaction as Buhari Says his Credentials are still with the Military

President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his credentials are still with the Nigerian military. This is the same excuse he gave when he was campaigning in 2015.

According to online report, INEC reported that over 70 names of aspirants had been posted as of Thursday night with a comprehensive list expected to be published on Friday.

In an affidavit the president swore to, he said; “I am the above named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”

Caitlyn Jenner Ends Support for Trump for Relentlessly Attacking Transgenders

Transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner withdrew her support from President Donald Trump over his record on trans rights.
The ex-Olympic athlete and reality TV star said she had “remained hopeful” that she could work with Mr Trump’s administration. She admitted her position had been a “mistake”.

“The reality is that the trans community is being relentlessly attacked by this president,” she wrote.

BREAKING: Five Corps Members Kidnapped in Imo state Rescued by Police

Five members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states who were kidnapped on Wednesday by unidentified gunmen on their way to their orientation camps have been rescued.

The victims were travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State capital, to Rivers and Akwa Ibom states where they were posted to undertake their three-week NYSC orientation.

The kidnapped victims were coming from Ibadan and they were kidnapped on the Owerri-Port Harcourt Expressway and taken to the Umuapu forest in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.

NAFEST 2018 Opens in Port Harcourt

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared open the National Council for Arts and Culture (NAFEST). He also described the event as a unifying force for the country.

The governor made the declaration yesterday evening at the opening ceremony of the 31st National Council for Arts and Culture, NAFEST Rivers 2018, at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt.

With the theme: “Nigeria: Our Festivals, Our Heritage”, NAFEST Rivers 2018, attracted participants from 18 States of the Federation, including Rivers State.

Bauchi Governor Describes NYSC as an Institution for Harnessing Youth’s Resourcefulness

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi state has described the National Youth Service Corps [NYSC] as an institution of government for harnessing youth’s resourcefulness for national development.

Abubakar disclosed this on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2018 Batch C stream I corps members deployed to the state.

Speaking during the ceremony, the governor who was represented by the sate head of Civil Service, Liman Bello said the NYSC Scheme has over the years become a platform for nurturing and mentoring youth to be competent future leaders of the country.
