Leicester City Owner’s Helicopter Crashes In King Power Stadium Car Park After G by Jowanonline(m): 6:01am On Oct 28, 2018
A HELICOPTER belonging to the owner of Leicester City crashed outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
Witnesses said the aircraft spiralled to the ground shortly after taking off from the centre the pitch before bursting into a “ball of flames”.

Pictures from the scene showed a huge fire outside the ground in the public car park with the flames visible from parts of the stadium.

The aircraft owned by Vichai Srivaddhanaprabh took off from the ground after Leicester’s 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

The Thai businessman attends all of Leicester’s home games and regularly leaves the ground in his helicopter but it is unclear who was in the chopper when it went down.

Unconfirmed reports suggest Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha “together with a number of his friends and family” were onboard, but this has not been confirmed by the club or emergency services.

Leicester’s game against West Ham was televised on BT Sport and cameras filmed the chopper leaving the ground just moments before the crash.
Tim Acott, a Leicester season ticket holder of 40 years, said: “It just came out of the stadium already spinning then down to the ground. Just in a spiral.

“It hit the ground with a big bang then burst into flames

“It’s over on the other side of the car park, I don’t think there were people there. I’m shaking like anything.”

Speaking from outside the ground tonight, Rob Dorsett from Sky Sports described the horrific crash.

He said emergency services were quick to respond and extinguished the flames within around 25 minutes.

He said: “There were plumes of huge grey smoke pouring out of the wreckage outside the car park, outside the stadium.

“Now we need to stress we don’t know who was on board that helicopter.
