Impacting positively on children’s welfare and women should be seen as a collective responsibility to enable them strive for success against all odds.

The Ondo state first lady, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu made the disclosure at the 10th anniversary celebration of the restoration of the dignity of womanhood (ROTDOW) in Akure.

Mrs Akeredolu who was represented by the chief operating officer BRECAN, Mrs Catherine Okafor said women needs to be empowered to acquire new innovations and be self reliance.

The first lady who reiterated her commitment to empowering the children and women for sustainable development assured of more partnership with some NGOs organisations for more success stories.

Chairman on the occasion Hon Isaac Adu charged the women to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria just as she explained that they remain instrumental to nation building.

The Chief Executive officer of the organisation Mrs Olabisi Omolona revealed that more than 1,300 orphans and vulnerable children have been empowered by the non governmental organisation .
