“The journey is never-ending. There’s always going to be growth, improvement, adversity; you just have to take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.” — Antonio Brown

Live

A lot of times, life never gives us what we want, even if it is rightfully ours. Yet, like the game of tennis, the ball will often land in our court and live us with little or no time to act. But when we do act, three events are likely to happen:

One, we might not score any point and the game of life continues. Secondly, we may score a point or two, but we must keep playing because the game of life will continue. Lastly, we may lose a point or two, but guess what the game still continues.

What about you? Let’s say you keep scoring no points, what will you do? Well, you shouldn’t stop playing till you start scoring yourself some points. What if you did score some points for yourself? Good, but the game is not over yet, it means you have to keep scoring for a chance to win the game.

What if you scored a few points at the beginning, but lost much more point as the game progressed? You might eventually lose that game. But, who says there won’t be other games or even a tournament to play again.

The point we’re trying to make here is this — the only time you lose out completely in life is when you give up playing. So, for you to live life to the fullest, giving up is not an option, winning is the only goal.

Work

This is where the catch is, winning isn’t wishful thinking. It is all involving. It requires you to reach deep down and tap into your fullest potential. You must find a way to give full expression to those potentials. This takes a lot of work…a lot of hard work.

It requires the level of preparation that is often quick to act and perceptible enough to seize every moment as the opportunities present themselves. It requires creating more time out of little or no time. It is about burning more of the mid-night candles. It is about putting in more hours and doing what’s necessary to establish a culture of winning.

We completely agree with Roger Staubach, who said that there are no traffic jams along the extra mile. So, we would like to add that winning becomes your culture when you go the extra mile. It’s time to start going the extra mile.

Create

When winning becomes a culture, adversaries begin to mount up, competition becomes steeper and only impact begins to stand out. What this means is that business would no longer be as usual. To make an impact you need to begin to create, to innovate.

You can no longer be the regular, hard-working 9 to 5 employee whose immediate boss is pleased with. You need to brace up for more, for impact, so much so that the company will bleed if they lose you.

You can no longer be that regular businessman or woman, who is popularly known along the street or in the market. You need to start thinking outside the box, think globally, think creatively, think impact.

It’s time to start living, don’t stop working and keep creating!
