Real political colouration is refusing to wonder why WAEC, The West African Examinations Council, Headquartered in Nigeria is re-issuing certificate/attestation for an exam - WASC- whose certificate was originally issued by University of Cambridge.......
If he really wrote the exam, then University of Cambridge should have received an application asking for a attestation since he was no longer in possession of his original certificate........
Why is WAEC issuing attestation for a certificate, whose result cannot be verified in their office..............................? [/s] The results, obtained exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES Wednesday, confirm Mr. Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations and obtained five credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health Science.
PREMIUM TIMES obtained the computer printout from Cambridge University as well as a statement of result, signed by the current principal of Katsina College, dated January 21, 2015.
The results show that Mr. Buhari, a former military head of state, failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.
The examination centre number was 8280, while Mr. Buhari’s candidate number was 002.
The statement of results is printed on the letter head paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education, and it shows that the examination took place in 1961.
The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’Adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.

TonyeBarcanista: 7 Questions For WAEC and President Buhari
1. Does WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria have the power to issue certificate the SECOND time after the first is issued and without first retrieval of the first certificate (just as they have done in the case of President Muhammadu Buhari)?
2. Does WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria (and globally) have the right to issue a fresh certificate to an individual after a previous issuance even when the individual never reported that the previous certificate contains error nor returned same to allow for a fresh certificate to be issued (just as they have done in the case of President Muhammadu Buhari)?
3. Is it not expected of WAEC or any educational institution or examination body in Nigeria to issue a certified true copy of certificate to individuals whose certificates got lost, stolen or damaged, as with the global norm and policy?
4. If President Buhari swore on oath on five occasions (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019) that his original WAEC certificate was with the Military board, does it not amount to fraudulent practice for him to be issued a fresh certificate by WAEC?
5. If President Muhammadu Buhari applied to WAEC for misplaced/stolen/damaged original certificate, is WAEC permitted under the law to issue a fresh certificate or a certified true copy of the previous certificate?
6. If question 5 is the case, does it not amount to deception under oath by President Muhammadu Buhari to have alleged in his affidavit that his certificate was with the military board instead, and thereby committing perjury?
7. Has Nigeria become a Banana Republic where those in power are permitted to do as they please without regards for procedures, policies and laws?
8. If WAEC claim that the new certificate issued to President Muhammadu Buhari is "Attestation Certificate", is it ideal for such to be issued when the President swore to oath that the original still exist and is with the military? Or Was it a false attestation made by President Buhari?

sammie99: nigeria army can't be so careless to misplace such a vital document. Are you saying you are oblivious of our abysmally poor record keeping habits on all levels. Most of our public institutions are extremely poor at keeping records. It is not unusual to find vital public documents being used by puff puff or akara sellers to sell their items. You cannot find achived tapes or footage of June 12 1993 elections in any public institutions in Nigeria. If you need footages from June 12 elections, you will have to ask the BBC. Same thing with nigeria's independence celebrations. 3 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista:
Sir, he said his certificate is with the military board, all he had to do is to go collect from them. If they insist that they misplaced it, he can use the official response to demand for a Certified True Copy of same Certificate.
Why say it's with the military (the military said they have no such record) and at same time obtain another from WAEC? It doesn't look right Sir So you now want CERTIFIED TRUE COPY now abi? so the certified true copy (of a certificate that is probably lost during the 1985 coup when his house was bungled abi you get photocopy for your hand) now supersedes what he has being given by WAEC or the attested STATEMENT OF RESULTS or Cambridge confirmation of PMB's grades as contained in their records? The Army spokesman said sometime this week that they cannot ascertain what obtained in the 60s. They cannot categorically say if the certificate was actually missing in their archives or elsewhere or if the Army as at that time did indeed collect and have his certificate in their custody. But available records shows he has O level with the stated grades as those in his statement of results and Cambridge confirmation. If he didn't submit his credentials to the Army during conscription, where did the Army get the grades filled in his recruitment forms? That in itself is an indication that the Army was in receipt of his O level certificate or result during conscription. The Army's "denial" or otherwise of having his certificate CANNOT be used as a basis for his being guilty of perjury based on his affidavit. This isn't even a perjury trial, he was compelled to present his O level certificate or show evidence of having one and he has gone through all legal channels to prove that. His O level certificate was lost, available records show he sat and wrote the exam in the 60s with certain grades which has been confirmed by the school he wrote the exam with an attested STATEMENT OF RESULTS, the Cambridge University exams body and the WAEC that conducted the exam for Cambridge University. You are bigger than this silly antics that is meant for mischief makers who have just an incohate grasp, knowledge and awareness of political happenings. 3 Likes |

I think you are wrong to state that, ‘ Cambridge confirmed the records in same 2015...’ in reference to his certificate. The attachment you posted did not collaborate that, Cambridge clearly stated that, they can only confirm or verify such information when the candidate request it. They never confirm any record, the rest of that letter were general information and nothing specific about PMB.
