The idea of having someone close to you (a parent, a teacher or even a brother that doesn’t know Jesus) should spur you into action! Let’s cut to the chase here: how do you feel knowing that someone special may go to hell? Not too great I’d assume. We have a responsibility to do something right?
Well, let’s have a look at what you can do. Remember, that saving someone is God’s job, not ours. Our responsibility is to take the Good News (the Gospel) of Jesus to others, and we can do this in various ways. So here’s a practical way of doing what we can to help others to know Jesus:

1. Make a list of people that you want to see come to Jesus. Let’s start small, with just 2 names for now, and then build on it. Write the full names of these people down. Start a little book if you want, especially for this purpose.
2. Speak to God about them. Take these people that you have named, before God. Fast if you feel you need to. Just present them and your desire for them before the Father.
3. Spend time with the people you have selected. Judge how spiritual receptive they are. Are they hostile towards the Gospel? Well just love them, show Jesus to them in your actions and your attitude and the way you conduct yourself. If they are keen to hear about Jesus, then tell them! Share your own story with them. Tell them about how YOU were saved. That is an irrefutable witness of Jesus’ goodness! Think about how you used to feel and be sensitive to the people you are sharing with. Invite them with you to church if they’d like to go. Don’t be discouraged!
4. When people are ready to make the commitment to become a believer, help them! Pray for and with them and help them to understand what it all means. Encourage them and stand by them so they feel loved and supported. This is a BIG deal!
5. Assist your friends to find a church they can be a part of. They are now part of a wonderful family; so help them to connect. Ask them to join your Bible study group or Care Cell and encourage them!

Let’s commit to doing this. Let’s show our commitment to these people that we’ve selected by doing the best we can to see them hear about and come to know Jesus. Be sensitive, be kind, be prayerful, be dedicated, and let God do the rest!

Be blessed

Brad
