Female genital mutilation (FGM) is real. It is alive and kicking in Nigeria. I daresay that most of Nigerian females have been genitally mutilated.
FGM involves cutting off different parts of the female private part mostly for the purpose of preventing 'promiscuity'. At the most basic form it involves cutting off a girl's clitoris. More invasive degrees of FGM have included also scraping off the labia minora and labia majora (the two folds at the entrance of the vag.ina). And because of FGM it is almost impossible for the female to enjoy sex.

If you have ever met a lady/woman that rhetorically asks you, "Is sex food?", such a woman is most likely a victim of FGM. Unfortunately more women are involved in the perpetuation of FGM on baby girls.

FGM scars the girl for life and robs her of ever enjoying sex.

FGM is the equivalent of cutting a baby boy's peni.s. There should be a punishment against any person involved in the ugly and barbaric act. Our women deserve the right to enjoy sex, it is a fundamental human right. Say no to female genital mutilation.

What punishment should be measured out to anyone found culpable?
