The 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame will be quite unique in so many ways. One of these is that, for the first time in the history, a female rapper is nominated for the award.

American singer, Missy Elliott, acclaimed as ‘one of Rap’s greatest voices’ in the world, is the first female nominated for the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame prestigious prize.

She also become the third rapper to enter the organisation following recent inductees JAY-Z and Jermaine Dupri.

The songwriter, who crafted songs for Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, is nominated among artistes for induction at the Hall’s 50th annual Induction and Awards Gala in New York.According to the list released by the organisers on Thursday, others joining Elliott as performing nominees are Mariah Carey, Chrissie Hynde, Vince Gill, Mike Love, Jimmy Cliff, and  John Prine, among others.

Non-performing nominees are Jack Tempchin, Dean Dillon, Jerry Fuller, Tom T Roger and Nichols and  Boyz II Men, among others.

I love this woman. So unique. She has a way she always tries to GET YOUR FREAK ON. Different moves are ALL IN HERE GRILL. I pity GOSSIP FOLKS and a FIVE MINUTE MAN. Cos she will WORK them out.
