Oni is favoured to sit beside the British prince because Oni like all Yoruba people are pets and loyal slaves to the British, submitted yourself to British rule without a single resistance.. so of course the British will prefer their loyal and faithful subject sitted besides him rather than the mighty and powerful Oba of Benin who resisted and battled them to a standstill..

And in the picture u can see it is only the Oba of Benin that has his symbol of power and authority beside him. That means recognition of greatness. Where is Oni famous staff of power? Them threw it far from him because the British don’t regard him as great, just a subject.
