Buhari Urges Inec To Conduct Free Polls ! by wales(m): 6:07am On Jul 23, 2010 |
Former military president and presidential aspirant, Muhammed Buhari, of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), has expressed confidence about the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) capacity to conduct free and fair elections in 2011. Mr. Buhari stated this yesterday when he commissioned the new party secretariat in Jos-Makurdi road in the Bukan-Sidi area of Nasarawa State. The general urged INEC to update the voter’s register in preparation for the forthcoming general election. He warned against disenfranchising the youth, saying that those who were 18 years and older should be allowed to take part in the forthcoming general election. He asked Nigerians not to vote for corrupt leaders again because they are criminals, and urged the large crowd who came out to welcome him, to vote for people of high integrity. He noted that the money current leaders had realized in the past ten years, was enough to cover the cost of free education, health care and security. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/5597778-147/buhari_urges_inec_to_conduct_free.csp

@Ileke-IdI, Madam, what is your point ![]() I think yor hormones are raging, maybe you need a cold shower ![]() Ileke-IdI: @topic Nigeria needs the type of anti-corruption leadership that Buhari provided for 20months after his coup in Dec 1983. Our number one problem is corruption and once we get corruption under control, everything else would work better. |

Asking INEC to conduct credible polls in Naija is like asking NEPA/PHCN to supply power 24/7 or the Super Eagles to win the WC. Not gonna happen in his great grand children's lifetime. |

I don't understand Nigerians or even some Nairalanders: Who is Buhari? why does he rely on INEC? he should do what he did before and take power by the gun, then institute retro active laws and kill some Sapele boys by firing squad. Why is he bothering with elections? afterall he and other military and so-called ex- military leaders think it is their God given right to govern Nigeria. India - bad civilian government after bad civilian government, political violence, assassinated prime ministers BUT never any military Pakistan - civilian, then military, civilian, then military and so-on. which country would you rather live in? A beg, IBB, Buhari, OBJ, Mark, Ogbemudia, Marwa, and any other soldier politician, please leave us to suffer by ourselves, we don't need your help. |
