Sureties/guarantors are punished when the subjects they stand for jump bail to avoid the law. That is the only reasonable way in which they can be punished. I absolutely despise Nnamdi Kanu, but the notion that his sureties should be accountable for him despite the obvious mitigating circumstances that led to his fleeing is only possible in a lawless country. It's an absurd argument. Nnamdi Kanu's most fundamental human right is his right to life.
