Release Kanu, Start Process Of Restructuring - Southern, Middle Belt Leaders / Shehu Sani: Why The North Is Scared Of Restructuring / Buhari Should Begin The Process Of Restructuring To Make Atiku's Slogan Irreleva (2) (3) (4)

maasoap:So in the thread where Atiku said he doesnt mind giving the Niger Delta 100% derivation but that he will heavily tax them to maintain the federal govt; as usual, most yorubas were against it. Its not their idea of restructuring. This guy i quoted here called it ''resource control''. And said they dont want it. Ofcourse there are just about 8 federal countries in the world. Nigeria claims to be one of them. In other federal countries, the states manage their resources and pay around 50% to fg....thats not the type of federation the yorubas want because according to this poster here the east ''are sitting on crude oil''. But once u want lagos IGR to be equally shared or once u talk about lagos little, these guys will come for ur head. These guys want to keep their lagos and wants ''the Igbos to leave''. But they dont want the ND to keep their oil. I brought this up so that people will see the nature of our countrymen who habit the western region. Their attitude reminds all of a certain shape-shifter who lost to Arc angel Michael. Yorubas pls...wat exactly is restructure? 7 Likes 4 Shares |

I dont see why SS should not control their oil. Please note 80% of yorubas defending Lagos are not known to us. Even in our unis theyll device any means to get indegene papers to contest in nulass not until we investigate their real origin. Nairaland is a bigot forum and their admins are politically motivated. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Odingo1:they actually have. They have lagos and are largely educated too...i think they have started playing 'over sabi' politics. They want to milk other regions of nigeria, they want to share presidency btw just north and west, they want to keep lagos...and then wen nigeria is on its knees, they will start shouting ''oduduwa republic'' The north doesnt realise how over alliance with the west will come to hurt them deeply. Cos wen the west (who they are now giving all the advantages) betrays them, they wont have the east or south south to fall back on. And i can bet my life that one day the west will betray the north and start shouting oduduwa republic. It fits them both 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Odingo1: I think it's a normal human trait...to be scared of the unknown. Though some may want to argue true fiscal federalism and component parts controlling their resources isn't really unknown in Nigeria b'cos this is exactly what was in place before the 1966 coup! Besides, i don't think it's just the Yoruba as a region/ethnicity that's reticent about restructuring Nigeria into a true fiscally compliant federation. One could say almost every region/ethnicity besides the south-east and south-south isn't truly committed to such a monumental change in Nigerias' political-economy...and for a myriad of reasons: they still have their eye on proceeds from the sale of the hydrocarbons in the Niger Delta; they're envious of some states getting 'too much money' and outpacing them in development; they want to continue to use the present centralised set-up to hold others down while they use their control of Abuja to grab billion-dollar projects to their own regions.....and when the cheated regions complain they'd be told to quit whining and wait in line since they and their regions are second-tier/class and would only get attention after the first class regions have got first servings; they want to use the present set-up to continue hiding behind more adventurous and entrepreneurial regions/ethnicities, so when benefits are shared, they can push their way to the front to demand equal share in the name of 'one Nigeria'...and this can be seen for instance in the way VAT is generated more by certain regions/ states but shared equally among all Nigerian states; etc-etc-etc! I think Igbos and others who are bold enough to 'rock the boat' and question the present set-up should be commended and encouraged....that's if we're serious about remaining as one country and forging ahead economically like we did in the 60s! 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Xander85:The present yoruba race are not thinkers they only follow baba isale. That's why they don't see reason we needed restructuring but I don't still want northern state to left with less funding when restructuring take place. We need to take care of poverty rate in North not them deciding who shud lead 1 Like |

Modphase:1st of all u seem to be thevery unintelligent guy here with ur wack English. 2ndly the eastern region was billed by michigan university as the fastest developing region in Africa in 1965. 3rdly oil was discovered in comercial quantity in 1958 and by 1964 the eastern govt has built a gas pipeline from ph to enugu. 4thly kaduna nzeogwu who truncated the regional govt wasnt from eastern region but from mid western region which was formally part of western region. He wanted to kill even zik and handover to awolowo. 5thly stop insulting people u dont know online 6thly it was because the igbos were shouting restructuring during gej term that made him to call the national confab your APC has discarded 8 Likes 3 Shares |

tollyboy5:the poverty rate in the north will not be solved by sharing oil revenue. We have been sharing oil since 1967 yet the poverty rate kept increasing and is now the highest in the world. It is caused by mass illiteracy. They dont need oil money in order to leave the mosque and streets and enter the classroom I also think the present yorubas think they are being smart. Lol. When oil finishes...lagos should be ready to house 50% of nigeria...unless nigeria allows another city in the south to develope like lagos, the future will be bleek for all of us 4 Likes |

Each of our 36 States will have SPSC, ie State Policy Service Commission, constituted of:- 1, two most senior Traditional Rulers from each of the State's Local Government and 2, two very senior Lawyers, SANs, from the State, to act as Secretaries only to the Commission. SPSC will be responsible wholly and authoritatively for:- SPC, State Police Commission for Homeland Security. SRC, State Resources Commission for exploring and exploitng State Resources and expending them by their Rules. SEC, State Election Commission, to elect L.G Counsellors, State Assembly members, Governors, Rep members, Senators and President. Now, 36 Presidential Aspirants will be treated by INEC for rigorous campain all over the 36 States and eventual election of one of them as Mr. President of The Federation. And authorising and contributing 10% of each State's Revenue to run Federal Government's Foreign Affairs and Military Resposibilties on States behalf. 2 Likes |

The 6 zones give the impression to some of dividing the Country and is not progressive. The 36 States are already constitutional, legal. Amend the Constitution by its provisions, wrestling and adjusting power here and there in the Exclusive List, between the States and F.G. Once they have full autonomy, they will have power to regroup and merge and work economically together with or without the Constitution. Cooperation is afterall a mutual thing. 1 Like |

Bede2u:yorubas are too afraid to betray the north. A people that betray everything in their path even their own brothers, ask abiola, bola ige, kudirat, diya and most recently ambode. They would have betrayed the north a long time ago if not that they are to scared to do so and also they know that they will not get any support from se/ss. 1 Like |

izombie:truthfully speaking, u have a point. The east would have fought another war if abiola was one of us...the west didnt. Might be out of fear for the north and knowing that they dont have allies in the east either...but i think one day an independent oduduwa republic will come to be a major issue in this country...that day the north can be sure that they wont have allies in the east either |

When Late Prof. Aboyade submitted Revenue Allocation Formula to Shagari, Shagari said it was complicated for him to read and understand. Wole Shoyinka, The Obi of Onitsha, Afenifere, Ohaneze etc etc have written copiously on Full Autonomy, Restructuring, Zoning and so on, but Buhari, in a characteristic Fulani Military fashion dismissed all, desiring Process, as if he can never find it in Restructuring. I know that our present NASS has deliberated on this issue to 63% approval rate until some 46 Spoiler Senators clogged the wheel. Is it not because Buhari is tribalistic, dictatorial, selfish and uncooperating that made him jetison GEJ's National Conference Report till today? GEJ is a previous President. He did everything like President. His Presidency was not in any way constitutionally inferior to what we have now. Infact, Google puts Jonathan's Reign as being democratically superior to all previous and now Governments. All the time and money wasted so far would have been curtailed by deliberating on GEJ's NCR and adopting it. My Moniker is "ORISA37". That can neither be Ibo nor Fulani. I am a Nigerian and Nigeria is not for Sale. |

Asn’t PDP organizing conferences without any hope of implementing prove it’s another looting venture for them ? So you see you think you can fool other Nigerians but everyone know you indeed are the fool. |
