The Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David Nweze Umahi, has received the New Telegraph award as the Governor of the Year in Agriculture, Empowerment and Road Infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, the editorial board of the Newspaper said that Governor Umahi has put Ebonyi State on the world map noting that his bold administrative strides in areas of rice production, human resource empowerment and infrastructural development have revolutionized the global perception of the Ebonyi State.

Accepting the award, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State who was ably represented by his Deputy, Barr Kelelchi Igwe, appreciated New Telegraph and entire Nigerians for acknowledging his modest achievements and assured that he would continue to make welfare of people the priority of his administration.

Among other notable recipients of the award was the Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar
