Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have disclosed how they will conduct their 2019 campaigns following the appeal by President Muhammadu Buhari that the country should not be set ablaze “because of politics”.

Buhari at the launch of his campaign manual and what he called ‘The Next Level,’ on Sunday, urged politicians vying for elective positions in next year’s elections to conduct their campaigns peacefully and decently.

Speaking to State House correspondents, Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura said Nigerians should expect campaign based on performance, pedigree and dividends of democracy that this administration has been able to deliver to the nooks and crannies of the country; they should expect campaign that is mature, geared towards promoting our national ideals and values.”

He said with the performance of the president and the party, Nigerians will overwhelmingly vote for the APC.

“APC is the only platform that can take this country to the next level. APC has a leader that has values, that has philosophy for peace, stability and respect for rule of law.

We should expect a seamless, decorous and peaceful campaign because we are abiding by the ethics, values, by the way of life of our leader and everybody who knows President Buhari knows he is a man of peace. Our campaigns will be based on issues and will be very peaceful,” he said.
Also speaking, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello said their campaigns would be peaceful and crisis free.

“I am sure you know that our candidate, President Buhari is a peaceful man; he cherishes security and is fighting insecurity and he has encouraged all of us to go for issue-based campaigns and that is the message.

“We are going to take to the people all the achievements of Mr President and why we have to give him another four years and by the grace of God, I can assure you that during the campaign, after the campaign, during the elections, after the elections it is going to be very peaceful and crisis free and by the grace of God we are assuring you of landslide victory,” he said.
